It will fit but will be tight at the front of the seat.  If you can  swap for an interstate seat that will also fit your standard.

Got one on my Tourer. No problems. I do install an upside down car wheel lug nut under the front attachment point to raise the tank. Don't remember why or if that is necessary.

Yes, It will Fit. I have a 2000 Standard that I put an Interstate Tank on. I did put the 1/2 inch spacer on the front to get more air to the airbox and i didnt change out my seat because it wasnt that tight of a fit.

Love the IS tank on my 97.  The extra fuel is great, and I think the larger tank looks good on a big bike.

Would like to install one on my Tourer, but can't find one that doesn't cost a billion dollars.
Guess I'll have to keep stopping every 120 miles.

I'm ready to buy on also, but not for 1K. I think I'll have better luck getting a whole IS and parting it.

Believe me, you wont make any money from buying a complete working IS at full price, and be able to sell the parts to equal the original purchase. Buying a wreck, it will be easy.

I have approx $4000 more in major parts (engine/tank/bags/instruments/trunk), and have only sold the rest of the parts for $1400. It has been a nice learning experience, but it all took time. It would be easier for you being as you would most likely sell the parts in the US and I take it you are there also.

If you watch e-bay and craigs list you can find some deals. I found an interstate tank with a dent for $300, it needed paint to match anyway so the dent did not bother me. I found all the tins to change the color on mine, 3 fender sections @ $180, and the side covers and center piece @ $75, all of them were a different color but again I was going to paint it all so it did not matter.

So for $555 I got everything I needed to change the color, and I kept all my original tins that were in perfect shape. It took me about 6 months to get it all together, but it was worth the wait.
