Yeah. I shoveled at work, then shoveled at home. Snow shovels are a "heart attack looking for a place to happen".

Only about 4" (I'm talking about snow! Get your minds out of the gutter!  Cheesy  ) here. It was really wet, slushy stuff. So, even with the wind it didn't really drift much. As soon as I cleared it with the snow blower, the remaining moisture immediately froze into a nice sheet of ice.  tickedoff

Oh well. with nothing else to do, it'll give me a chance to install the new petcock. (There, it's Valk related.)   Wink

No excuse now to put off cleaning up the Vstrom.  Bugs, dirt, greasy back wheel (chain drive).

I really don't want to do it as I've only washed it twice in two seasons.  There's something to be said for a motorcycle that has NO chrome and is fugly. cooldude

Sure runs nice tho. Smiley

Cold one today! Was out doing errands tonight and saw a local guy out on his Valk. It was 11 deg at the time. He just had jeans and a leather coat on. He left it run while he was in getting groceries. Must wanted the heater to keep up.  crazy2

Do you happen to be the dedicated individual with either large stones, or small gray matter that was out on the Valk tonignt? I'll ride cold, but I draw the line at about 20deg.

Woke up to a white world here too.  Actually woke up much earlier; all the trees were coated in thick  fluffy snow, then the temps dropped and it all froze, then the winds picked up to 40 and all these snow chunks started hitting the roof over my bed............ incoming!

Now, now Carl.  No need to shoot the wounded.   angel

As I have said before, I spent 40 years (including education) seeking perfection of the written word, and spelling and grammar came after content.  So now in my retirement, I type whatever the hell I want ..... trying to use a spoken word/conversational style over proper writing.  And I still need spell check every time, thou I only remember to use it some of the time.

Trying to decide who to route for tonite.... probably Ohio State because it's in my Big Ten.  However, my friend Mike (Hubcap) attended and has spent a career at Clemson.

Where I graduated from Ben Davis. I went to Benton Central Jr./Sr. High School while living in Fowler for the 7th and 8th grades. So I'm well aware of Oxford, IN cooldude

Hows the snow storm? I have over a foot of snow here and its windy. 5' drifts. The country stopped plowing at 2p and all their trucks are at the vol FD to plow a path for runs. Have 2 at the hospital for EMS runs. Had a run a little bit ago and I barley made it threw. Love these tires!   cooldude Had to use a snowmobile to get to the house and to bring the pts to the ambulance at the road.

We're shut down tomorrow too. Only the 2'nd time in the past ten years we've shut down for weather. We've got maybe 14" of blowing and drifting snow. Haven't seen a car go by in hours, which it was that way all the time.  Wink

Our powers been on and off maybe a dozen times today but it's hasn't been off long yet. It's dropped from 27 degrees to 10 in the last few hours and I guess we're headed for negative 15 or so. The blowing snow is keeping the motion detector lights outside on all the time. I've thrown a couple of cots in the shop by the woodburner. If we lose power for good we'll stay warm there and hopefully a kerosene heater in the basement will keep the pipes from freezing in the house.

It wouldn't take long to be in big trouble out in that wind tonight. Hope everybody stays safe.

nope this thread is not used much anymore don't think there are that many here in Indiana that rides just look at how many in going from inzane from ind.
the roundup ride has more coming to that I think I had about 40+ show up last year just from indana
I really think that this thread just get lost in all the Bull Shi! that goes around it is hard to keep anything on top 2 pages about rides, ride reports just because of all the B/S it is like some folks is using it like face book.

Rainman, that is your opinion, it is not mine.  The board is a general board and is open to all members, as you know.

Maybe a little less negative and more positive like your planned ride that you do for Hoosiers.  I was thinking about coming to your event with my son Mark (Mad6Gun) this Fall.  it might be too much for me to ride from NE indiana but I could drive.

Having planned a number of rides in the past, I can well understand the work that goes into them.

Anyone looking to ride down together on the 19th? Looking to leave home around 10a. My riding bud may leave later, not sure yet. I am gonna hook up with GiG and Lulu here at the house. Route will be 69 to 37.

Sounds like a plan. We have two others joining us. Can we meet up at the same I-69 exit we've met you before? I think it's where the Warren Travel Plaza and Ugaldis is. (Where route 5 intersects with I-69)
If you're leaving the house at 10:00, I'm guessing you'll be at the truck stop around 10:15 - 10:30? Does that work?
