Some here have commended you for your courage at choosing the Valkyrie as a first motorcycle.  I, for one, hope there's some misunderstanding like maybe the Interstate is a tricycle or you really do have a lot more riding experience than "first motorcycle" seems to imply.

A heavy, powerful bike can kill you in a heartbeat.  If this really is your first then please be constantly aware of the care you need to take while accummulating experience and get all the help, such as riding classes and material for learning effective riding techniques, that you can get.

No there wasn't any misunderstanding, nor was it a trike. It wasn't courage either, just blind ignorarnce. I fell in love with the Valkyrie as soon as I laid eyes on it, and bought it. I took it to the empty parking lot next to the dealership, spent an hour trying to get familiar with the first bike I had been on in years, went back in to the dealership, admitted defeat, and had them deliver it to my home. I realized that I had bitten off a hell of a lot more than I was ready for. I almost sold it back and got a smaller bike. Thank goodness I didn't, but there was one heck of a learning curve.
