Clipped on yesterday. It bent the right rear crash bar back. No damage to saddlebag. Phew.

Flipped crash bar around so I can open bag easily  :cooldude:

Didn't kill it. Darn it.

Was just checking out the short video's on you tube...You are in beautiful country mate  :cooldude:

View 2 Bryce Canyon June 17, 2012

I've seen alot of people that thought they were cool , but then again Lord I've seen alot of fools.

..

Bryce is not on my scenic list. Its a bit blah compared to Capitol Reef, Grand Escalante and THE jewel
Zion

..

Merced, CA

625 miles via ET Hwy, Little Alieinn Rachel, NV and Yosemite

Tomorrow the PACIFIC !!!!!

sheets

Hwy 299 west -

Redding; after you pass Whiskeytown lake, you will head up the first mountain (Buckhorn). You will enjoy our mini version of Deals Gap of the northwest; 80 curves in seven miles, as you climb to the top of the summit.

Weaverville; as you descend the west side of Oregon mountain you find yourself looking at a piece of road straight as an arrow for a mile--and--a--eighth. The only straight section of road for over a hundred miles. Resist the temptation to twist the throttle. This is the "mother of all speed traps". CHP use radar. Typically one parked under a shade tree at one end or the other. Often times two units, one parked at either end in an obscure spot where they hide their black cars in the shade of a tree and aim their radar. Hwy 299 - Watch for rocks and pine cones in the road. Not to mention deer.

Hwy 299 & 101; exit Giuntoli lane for gas - grits and a motel.
Hwy 101 north; you'll see the ocean from the freeway. About ten miles up the road exit at Trinidad. Make a quick loop down to the light house for your first up close glimpse of the pacific.

Northward . . .  approaching the town Orick the Hwy runs right along the beach. you will have the opportunity to actually walk on the beach and get your feet wet.

North of Orick; take the Newton B. Drury Parkway through the redwoods. Eight miles of road through the old growth forest. The Park road connects back to Hwy 101 near the Klamath river.

Klamath; as you pass an attraction called the Trees of Mystery, you will find a short stretch of road along the coast again. The next and last opportunity to see the California coast is at the south end of Crescent City. You will pass by a mile or so of beach as you approach the city of Crescent City.

At Crescent City you are about twenty miles from Oregon on Hwy 101.

Hope you find the coast with no wind.  sheets

RainMaker

I just saw that crow in your video outside my window.  He "cawed" with a British accent!  :2funny:

Keep the reports coming.  The short videos are nice, too.

Ride safe!

Question, somewhere in this thread you posted about ST 1/2 and deer 0. Did you hit a deer?

How is that car tire holding up?

Thank you for going to all that trouble

Plan has changed again. I'm heading east.

Elk City, OK

681 miles of windblown hell

One gust blew me out of the right lane into the left

I had no choice, it happened so quickly

If a vehicle had been there I'd be dead, dead, dead.

NCGhostrider

Welcome to OK and TX.   The dang wind will surprise you and put you in a bad place before you know it.   I still shudder from something that happened to me nearly 30 years ago...

Be safe..   Ride south for some TX BBQ and a cold glass of iced te (for that matter the beverage of your choice)!!!

Sounds like you're having a blast Paul. That's great.
I'm almost with ya on Zion. I liked the Black Canyon a little better. Hard to describe Zion. It's just one cool and beautiful place.  I hope to make it back one of these days and spend a day there.
Glad you made it home safe and had a good trip.  :cooldude:
