well at least one person knew what i was implying,,, since i ride a harley i thought i at least could poke a little fun at it,,,

I knew you were joking... I just answered the question seriously.

Making the ASSUMPTION that a Valk will smoke a HD is a dangerous gamble.  You'll win more often than not... but there are some out there that will bite you in the ass.

Yup... I have a good buddy of mine who is a top notch motorcycle mechanic and drag racer. He's got a 94 FXR that runs in the mid 10's in the quarter. It's truly a Jekyll and Hyde machine... putt putting around town, if anything it sounds tamer than the average loud potato Harley... but when he opens it up... it's impressive. I know because though I stay fairly close, I get treated to his ear splitting exhaust from behind him every time.

OMFG!  He took one look at the valk and declined to race.  "Oh, you got one of those, huh?"  He didn't want to race his big, expensive Harley.  Nice bike though.  Somewhere near $40,000.  All the luggage, electronics, and bling you can get.  I felt sorry for him so I let him take my wife for a ride.  His bike looked even better with her on it.

Jabba

Ha.

that is funny as heck.

Can't really blame the guy.

I see you have Cobras and as I said earlier, I have them too w/o baffles and it does intimidate them, not to mention just looking at the engine!  ;D The newer ones are 96ci, 103ci, and 110ci. So even the 96ci is even bigger than ours but our flat 6 just looks bigger and badder!!  :2funny:

Ha!! That's a riot.  ;D

A maintenance guy I used to work with said of my Valk. "I've seen that train engine you ride."

Got a little bet with a friend of my wife.  Typical arrogant HD rider thinks his "super fat road king softail glide" whatever is da bomb.  I'm going to educate him.  Never raced a big shaft drive machine like the valk.  Any hints/secrets on how to get a good launch without breaking anything?  Best rpm to shift? etc.?

I do a bit of 1/4 mile-ing on my Valk. I find the quickest times for me are achieved by dumping the clutch at 4000 and controlling the wheelspin on the throttle, and shifting up at 6500.
A ten second tire warming burnout will gain you about 0.3 second at 12 psi. If you're running street tire pressure you'll probably be just as quick pulling away in second.
V Rods are quick, but I can't think of any other stock H-D that would live with a Valk. If it's got 'King' in the name, he's gonna find out what it's like to be a queen. I lost out by about 5 yards to a 1200 Sportster on the strip and found out after that he had $5k+ in the engine.
Have Fun
