MEET IN THE MIDDLE RIDE 2012

I'm still not out 100% on this ride and will let you know by tomorrow ( saturday ) if I'm a go or no.If I go I'll post the southern end information by the evening of 8-4-12.

As far as the "Middle" my thought is to just post the hotel info for the Allegheny Inn and have those that want to join us call them and make reservations.


 

West Jefferson,NC is around 260 plus miles for the northern folks from mm#0 at Waynesboro,Va. its about 210 plus  miles for the southern folks from Cherokee,NC at mm#469 . However if I do this the hook-up point for the southern end will add another 95 miles to this making our group do a 300 plus mile ride that saturday 8-1-12....I'm liking West Jefferson better since the world largest flea market is in town at the Allegheny Inn in  Sparta, NC.I've talked to both motels and West Jefferson just seems a better deal with the local stores and restaurants all in walking distance.

That works for me.

I've stayed in West Jefferson a couple of times and have had no issues there.

Joe is back on board and the arrangements have been made for the Southern End, The Middle and The Northern End.


There might be a few rooms available on the northern end.

Well its almost time to ride, not close enough though, but it looks like there will only be three of us from the north end riding but that's ok, quality is better than quantity anyday.

Deb and I probably won't be there until 8:00 or 8:30 PM on Friday, but we'll be there.

Mark, not sure when Petra and I will be there but probably sometime in teh afternoon, we are taking a leisurley stroll down Skyline to get there. We will see you and Deb there, looking forward to it.

Last check with the motel in West Jefferson,NC  they claimed we had ( 17 ) rooms rented and that was a couple weeks ago. You always have a few fair weather type's that will bail if they think their vagina has the slightest chance of becoming moist  .

The Meet in The Middle Ride is about to begin......................... 


The official ride is for a "meet and greet" in Marion, NC after a ride on either the Northern or Southern end of the BRP.


Deb "Ginger" and I have tentative plans to finish riding the BRP on Sunday, spend the nught somewhere and head for the barn on Monday.


If anyone would like to join us for a ride on Sunday you are welcome.


Two things are tentative:

1) If Sunday were to be a washout we'll head for home instead.

2) We have no specific destination for Sunday, wherever we are when we decide to call it a day is where we'll find somewhere to stay.

I didn't see any info on rides after meeting in West Jefferson so I made reservations to stay there Sat and Sun night, with reservations to stay in Marion Mon-Fri.

We'll get on the road tomorrow morning and hope to see everyone at West Jefferson tomorrow night!
