Holster for Ruger LCP

Although I think "light" and 357 magnum don't go together, look at the LCR, now chambered in 357 mag. At least you can opt out for the .38 special round and all it's variations in the same weapon.

I need to find out how much more powerful a 357 mag is vs a 38+P. If not a lot of difference I'll probably get her a lady smith airweight. I guess I need to go the the gun store and ask some questions! 

Lot of them light weights cannot shoot the +P. Well, it might once!  Kits got a ultra light 38 and cannot shoot +P.

I've got a cheap Charter Arms snub 38 loaded with 5 +Ps and hope I don't ever have to fire it!

John do you have Crimson Laser sights on yours? If so, does it move it over time sitting on it? The guy told me he didn't "think so".   

No laser sights on my P3AT.... only my PF9, and it has a belt clip on it, spare mag in the pocket (when I carry that)..  None of my revolvers or others have laser either.

Got mine from www.pddexecutivecarry.com. I carry the LC9 which is a little bigger the=an the LCP buy not much. The holsters are about $45.00 and look like you have a PDA or smart phone on your side. Guaratee you can't tell what it is. I love mine

I never needed a laser for my bigger ones but did need one for the lcp.

A buddy of mine has an LCR in 38. The light weight makes for too much recoil for his wife. She shot it once and was done with it. Everyone has a different recoil tolerance though.

I have a "lightweight" 38 snub nose that she shoots and the recoil doesn't bother her. Now, it is all blue steel and not polymer so that may why it doesn't bother her. It doesn't weigh but 15oz.

Recoil of a .38 special can be a handful for anyone in a small revolver during a day on the range, so you might consider using factory ammo for "business" use only. When I used to frequent the range for target practice with my various .38 and .357 chambered weapons, I ran through 500 to 1000 rounds per weekend. I developed a light target load using red dot shotgun powder and a full wadcutter that was as comfortable to shoot as a .22. Used for hunting small game also. Turns out I believe this load would make a very potent self defense load against home invasion/car jacking situations, etc. Makes a very nasty hole & mushroom in game & targets of all kinds. Especially when I invert the wadcutter, which makes a huge hollow point. Not for long range targets, but very easy to handle and very accurate to 25 yds.

I shoot and carry lcr 357 mag. The recoil with factory ammo and factory grip is not too bad for me but wouldn't shoot it all day. I switched to TC grips and wow what a difference is much harder to control. shoots .38 just fine easy to manage. LCR has the best double action trigger I have felt from the factory and gun is very light. 13oz. I think empty.
