     Everybody just take a deep breath. We all knew it was going to be close in the popular vote. George had his eight years and Obama is going to have his. Being a Christian, I put my faith in the Lord for the future of my children and hopefully grandchildren someday. This country may have peaked as the super power, bright and shining star it once was and mostly because we have eroded the principles the country was founded upon. I think things will have to get worse, much worse, before it gets better, and that could take years. In the meantime, I intend to concentrate on the things I can to to be a positive influence in my community, my family and the people I come in contact with wherever they happen to be.

I really liked Robert's answer in the prediction post  altho we certainly do not share personal religious views

I am not ready to give up on this great experiment that is the USA and my prayer is for
an end to the vitrolic divisiveness and demonization of the POTUS  and a healing for our
domestic  economic problems and a realization nationally of the danger of Islam

While personally I think its ok in my book to poke fun at a party and the
incumbent whoever he or she is and work quietly or not so quietly for change,
its another to outright show disrespect and disgust (even if you feel it in your bones)
for any POTUS   If you feel you have the evidence for impeachment work with
your representative to introduce the bill into the Congress to start down that
road. But be aware the progress if any you seek otherwise will be lost and Biden will be the next POTUS
Pelosi is next in line I think

Steve let me say that I admire your personal conviction and strength, you with so much guff could have left but you didn't. I have learned in my life to depend and trust God and myself to run my life. I have taken my share of wrong decisions paid the price and used them as a learning experience. I found that most of the time that my judgement is correct. I was looking before the election for a reason to trust Obama and sadly no one who supported him could give me a real answer or one that moved me to say I need to reconsider the issue, so I made my decision. In this case I hope for the sake of the Nation that I am wrong and that he will go on to do great things. Steve congratulations and glad your still here.

Nah, the 6 Billion was spent and went into the economy.  More redistribution from those that contribute to the campaign funds (taxpayers) to re-elect a gov't that spends on non-taxpayers (yes, I know that not ALL non-taxpayers are on the receiving line).

Isn't this what Nancy Pelosi said about 3 years of unemployment benefits, that it's good for the economy because people spend that money......

It would be nice to believe, but I don't. 

Yes to your first question and No to the second.  And that's just it right there....How does it affect my personal life?  If I'm receiving, I want it to continue.  Even thought the trillions we borrow to give to those receiving will eventually destroy us, I still want mine. 

Neighbor said to me, call this number and register so that the power company will send you $300 for food lost during the blackout (still in blackout BTW), even if you don't have receipts.  Why is the power company responsible?  They didn't create the hurricane and they are working to fix it.  So now everyone affected can become a "receiver" because they are "entitled" to something.  And to pay for it, either rates go up for everyone, or their insurance covers it which only distributes the cost to everyone else insured by that carrier.  But, I'll get mine and keep it, even if it screws us all.

Well, the Robin Hood theory (take from the rich, give to the poor) worked for Obummer! Wonder what Gov. Chrisitie gets out of the Obama win? Hope it's  more than 30 pieces of silver! You can bet the Christie family will probably be eating Thanksgiving dinner at the Whitehouse. Anyway, after millions of dollars and months of trash talking ads, we are still in the ssme ole mess. I just hope when Obama makes us all equal, we don't have wear the same uniforms like some of the parochial schools!

As for the "respect" issue. Respect for the position is commanded, but respect for the person holding that position has to be earned and Obummer has not done that for me.

Great post Pete    I do my best to stay away from all the political BS that get's slung on this MOTORCYCLE web-site. It's a vicious circle this side ruins America for 8 yeras then that side ruins America for 8 years....We have been going down the drain for years now no matter what party is in office.....God bless America.

Well said, Don't give so much power to one person. This countries slide has more to do with it's citizens than leaders. The slide started many years ago and will continue until we are gone or learn to be a second class country like England has had to do. No offense to England..but once the most pwerful country in the world...not anymore. We will survive this next four years but eventually the spending and policing of the world will take it's toll. Not sure where the next super power will come from. I really had hoped my children would not see it but I am afraid the will.
