Oklahoma is now open carry. As of November 1st.

So I dont have to butt-pack a .357 any more. That just doesnt sound right, does it?
Let those who ride decide.

I should have clarified what I meant by Patch Clubs.
We have many motorcycle clubs in Australia.
I am as member of Ulysses which is a club for motorcyclists over 40.
Female & male & any type of bike.
Started in Australia & now going world wide.
We diplay our logo on our jackets etc but have an agreement with Patch Clubs that we dont combine it with a rocker.
Rocker is a description that goes above / below the logo.
Google "Ulysses Australia" to find out what we are on about.
We have a AGM once a year that about 5000 riders turn up to.
Our moto is " Growing Old Disgracefully" and being 74 with 3 bikes, that is what I am trying to do.

Patch Clubs are those like Hells Angels, Odins Warriers, Bandidoes that have a different life style.
There are many Patch Clubs in Australia & we have learnt to accept & get on with each other.

I think most of us understood what you meant by "patch clubs"  We have them here too.  The difference is, here they have the same rights as anyone else.  No one is calling for laws to "control" them.  We have laws that say you cannot do certain things regardless of your membership or not in any sort of club.  Let the punishment fit the crime and the "chips" fall where they may.  Until now we have enjoyed the concept that its not the government's job to control the citizens...its the citizens job to control the government..........seems some here want to change that, we shall see.

Finished my CHL classes here in Texas back in October and just waiting for my license in the mail.  Been in the market for a .45ACP.  Any recommendations?  I'm leaning towards a used Ruger (all metal frame) or a Berreta PX4.
"It's a friggen motorcycle, it's not supposed to be comfortable, quiet or safe. The windnoise is supposed to hurt your ears, the seat should be hard and riding it should make you crap your pants every now and then."

I'm not gun smart, but people who are seem to think I'm right on for liking to shoot the Springfield Arms 45 ACP.

They make a small one, (XDS I think) as well as some "regular sized" ones (the regular ones
are the ones I've shot)...

Couldn't agree more about the Springfield XD pistols. If I was looking for a 45ACP other than a 1911 an XD would be my first choice.

My bud has shot many rounds through his 40 Cal. XD without a single stopage of any kind.

One of Heinlein's many great books.  :cooldude:

Two of my favorite Heinlein quotes are below.

"A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion,
butcher a hog, command a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance
accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give
orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem,
pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently,
die gallantly. Specialization is for insects."

"Well, in the first place an armed society is a polite society.
Manners are good when one may have to back up his acts with his life."

Somehow I always figured Jeff Cooper was a Heinlein fan.

I guess we've hijacked this thread pretty good. I'm also a Heinlein fan. The Moon is a Harsh Mistress was the first "Adult" novel of his I read. (I grew up with Red Planet, Citizen of the Galaxy, Have Spacesuit, Will Travel, and others.) I also enjoyed Time Enough for Love. I Though the "interludes" were great. If I remember correctly, the first one was:
"Always store your clothes and weapons where you can find them in the dark"

Now, we're back on topic.   ;)
