CCW laws are specific to each reservation. The tribe can make their own laws regarding carry. Most tribes now have web sites, check there.

Taurus  makes quite a few pistols that shoot the auto ammo..... and they make some revolvers that do as well.   You meant "revolvers" I assume?

[smart-aleck] But, ain't most revolvers pistols?[smart-aleck]   :crazy2:

I had a model 1886 Colt 45 revolver that would shoot .45 acp ball.

Course you had to take a 10 penny nail and drive the case out of the cylinder once you fired it.

I never did use moon clips,  but they looked like a good idea.

Pretty good selection discussed here.

Today, it may not be exactly what you want, rather it may be what you can actually find for sale (that you can afford) that serves the purpose.

The libs are standing up complaining about the complete run on all guns and ammo.... forget AR's and AK's, I mean WWI and II bolt guns in .303 and 8mm, revolvers, just anything and everything.  The libs are stating... hey, slow down, we believe in a 2d amendment, we just want to tweak the rules a bit and take your assault rifles and large magazines, and ban all private sales/transfers.  We don't want everything, just a few things.

And the rest of America is replying with it's money to buy everything available.......... YOU PEOPLE ARE PROFESSIONAL LIARS ON EVERY ISSUE IN GOVT, WHY SHOULD WE BELIEVE YOU ON THIS ISSUE?

We shouldn't believe them on anything.  Especially on this issue.

Some libs have even written...... this isn't rational behavior, it's like these people are preparing for war.

Yes, one that you are starting.

PS:  Just read today that the IRS said entry level (lowest) price of Obamacare insurance available to the uninsured family, to avoid the uninsured penalty (tax says Roberts), will be $20,000 after tax dollars.......... wow, just what you'd expect from your Federal Government.   Wasn't the TRUE name of this abomination the Affordable Health Care Act?  There is no truth in them, none.

That video looks like it was made at the Pistol Range of my Sportsman's Club .... will have to check that out.    Yep, guilty as charged.... I was being a little smarty....   ;)   Revolvers.    On my Taurus 455 or 905, the gun will fire and work fine without the moon clips, ejecting is another issue however.  Most all of the casings will eject without using the moon clips by tilting the revolver up and tapping the butt, but occasionally one will expand and get stuck... pick it out with a finger nail, a casing or poke it with a stick.  The Moon clips are much easier to load than what that guy shows.... the shells just roll in or out, no need to pliers.  I can load that speed clip as easily as I can load a magazine.  He must have been a sissy.... LOL.

I didn't intend to imply you were being smart. I was trying to get in a good natured, but smart aleck gig. Glad to see you're such good sport even when you though I was being critical.

My dad gave me that 45 with a box of .45 acp ball ammo. I just assumed that was what it was supposed to shoot for years. Later when I found about about revolver ammo I went to get some. But the cartridge was almost twice as long as the acp. I wasn't sure that old gun could handle the pressure of modern ammo. (This was before the internet, in a small town with no public library.) I just kept shooting the acp and hammering the cases out with a nail or stick. Unfortunately they rarely came out with any less effort. Since then, I've talked with a gun smith who assures me that as long as I don't try +p, it should be fine.
I've passed it along to my son who hardly ever shoots it.

I'll post on my gun forum and find out for you. I'll try and get it done this weekend.

I know I've been good on the 2 or 3 I go thru in So Dakota. I think being on the highway has something to do with it but not totally sure.

Another +1 for the Keltec P3AT.  Bought it from a friend who said it was junk.  Read through those instruction thingies (Who'd a thunk theres information in there) that said to run some ammo through the gun to "break it in."  100 rounds later and I've got a swiss watch.  Even then I only had 2 problems during break in.  One stove pipe and One double feed.  I carry it with the optional knife clip.  Just dont put anything else with it in that pocket.

Damnit....  Might have to get that one.  I do have one .40cal SA.  The Taurus uses moon/stellar clips like my other 2 tho.... Looked it up   Charter arms makes one without those tho.   Well, there is a show this weekend.... Gives me something to look for.

I have the CCW permit from Wi. and read through the paperwork that cam with it, and I did not find anywhere that stated anything about not being able to carry on the reservations. Plus, in all of the talk about CC prior to it getting voted in, I never heard of any exceptions.

Indian Reservations are exclusive domains, for the most part.  WI laws cannot override or control Indian Reservation laws/rules, so would naturally say nothing about it.

Jess,
I am well aware of the separation, (retired LEO) my point was that with all the hupala about the ccw being passed, there was never a mention of NOT being able to CCW on a reservation. ALSO, I just (re) read my CCW permit brochure from the Wisconsin Department of Justice, and there was NO mention of an exception for Indian lands.

I understand.  My point is, with no affirmative info saying carry on each is allowed (you must assume each has its own rules), you must assume carry is not allowed, until you discover otherwise.

Silence cannot be taken as permission.
