I am in the process of looking for a valkyrie. From what I have read I believe I want the interstate. I have had 2 harleys, one yamaha and 2 suzukis. I have a c90t suzuki boulevard now. Could I get some pros and cons on the different models? I already know about the fuel gauge, larger gas tank, front head lights and I believe more powerful stator on the interstate. thanks

If you think you want an interstate, get one.  The classifieds on this site are a good start.  The IS will cost more than the others. You will have to use email or phone or a personal message to contact the seller, classifed ads are not capable of a reply. Here is a sample.  Hoser  :cooldude:

...also check you local Craigs List postings (beware of scammers!), Cycletrader.com and local newspaper classified ads. Good luck!

The search isnt half the fun here. Its the destination where the smiles begin.
Jade and Cream are the nicest.

This link may be of some help, although sometimes the amount of votes is limited.

Go to the bottom of page and insert type of motorcycle you want to compare the Valkyrie with.

Edit your profile to include your city and state. It might help if a local finds one for you.

Best suggestion has probably already been given......keep an eye out here in the classifieds and craigslist in your area.

I bought my '01 I/S out of the classifieds right here just over a year ago.....thanks BigAl  :cooldude: :cooldude:

Didn't get to ride it as much as I wanted to last summer but did manage to get a few miles in on my trip last sept.  A valk is the best - long distance - handling (great actually for a big bike) - riding bike I've owned in the last 25 years.  Yes I should have bought one a long time ago....guess I'm a slow learner :crazy2: :uglystupid2: :crazy2:

A Tourer or Interstate comes with just about everything I would want in a bike.

If you buy a Standard (that doesn't come with a nice set of bags like I did) be sure to factor that into your purchase price comparisons.  Boxes and bags can be very pricey.  The plus side is that you may want to go with a different look than what the stock bags have.  Just need to set aside several hundred bucks if that's your plan.

Good luck with your search.  :cooldude:

You seem to have a grasp for the machine.  Do a national Craigslist search for the color you want and when it pops up buy a one way airline ticket and go get it.  It sounds impulsive but the trip home you will never forget.  Have fun!

I got my IS for a reasonable price from the local Yamaha dealer last spring by searching Cycle Trader. You just have to keep an eye out.

Sweet looking 27,000 mile Interstate on Flea-bay right now. Nice looking non-stock paint job. Located in Mississippi, item #181076500102. No connection at all, just noticed it & liked it.
