Want me to jump in on this?  :)

What for?  So you can throw out a high lob, have it disputed with actual facts and number, call the responders names or try to insult them or belittle their reply and/or query for your facts by calling them racist, sexist, anti-gay, accuse them of being ignorant, or having a low IQ, as you and other liberals have done so many times in the past.

No, no thanks, we don't need you.

Your hatred for the Democratic party and democracy blinds you to reality.  Ask yourself and answer me this:  Based on your twisted logic, is it actually possible for Obama to do any good?  If the stock market goes up, home values rise, unemployment goes down, and the yearly deficit is reduced by nearly 1 billion dollars, it is all smoke and mirrors and bubbles and such, and any gains are clearly happening despite Obama.  If the stock market and home values were crashing, unemployment rising, and the deficit increasing it would clearly be Obama's fault.  So in which scenario is it possible for Obama to be doing a good job?  Stock and home values rising or falling?  Increasing or decreasing deficit?  Unemployment rising or falling?

As a patriotic American (which I am sure you are), what do you prefer to see?  Do you prefer to see our unemployment figures at the over 10% they were within the first 9 months that Obama took office, or do you prefer the 7.5% and falling that it is now?  Do you prefer our government spending to be at the 1.4 trillion dollar a year deficit that it was at when Obama took over, or the 500 billion and falling that it is now?  Do you prefer the Dow Jones at the 6500 mark like when Obama took over, or the Dow Jones at over 15000 like it is now?  Take a look at your 401k and ask yourself, do you prefer what it's value was when Obama was first elected in 2008, or what it's value is now in 2013?  Please keep in mind that when Obama took over unemployment was skyrocketing, home values were plummeting, the stock market was crashing and ask yourself if this is still the trend.

Primarily, I would like to see an honest and competent president.

California, according to you, is the greatest state in the union.

I won't be switching from Indiana tho.  Our state is debt free.

There is a very old saying.  "Who's going to pull the wagon if everyone wants to ride?"

It appears that Indiana isn't popular with 'free riders'   So be it.

I preferr to not relive bad history, but we never seem to learn from the mistakes of our past.  Stock market is up because we're printing too much money.  Housing is up because the interest rate is too low, and they're only up in places that weren't hit too hard to begin with.  Florida and Nevada are still suffering from home losses.  We've seen where this all leads.  So why are we putting us on the same track?  If you think is doing good by the country, then we really have nothing more to discuss on this topic.

Again, more people on public assistance, how good is this for the country?  Moe people on disability, how is this good?

And after almost 6 years, SOMETHING had to get better in spite of this administration's squandering away money.

I would like to see a dow jones that reflected reality, you still won't look at the question WHY the stock market is at record gains and the GDP is stumbling along at 1 or 2 %?

you sir have rose colored glasses on. the real unemployment rate is over 11% the U6 includes those under employed. 4 million more people under the poverty level then when obama took over (50+ million)about 13 million more on food stamps then when obama took over. or do you think that having 47 million people on food stamps is a great thing? gas prices doubled, dollar devalued this is causing real pain for the little people you claim care so much for.

keep cherry picking the good news if it makes you feel better, but know this there is real suffering under this president.

I will enlighten you on some reasons why California is the greatest state.  The best weather, nicest roads and scenery for riding my Valkyrie.  We have oceans, mountains, valleys.  Long straightaways and lots of twisties.  The technology that we are using to communicate with each other was invented in California.  The music, the movies, the fashion that is created in California.  The incredible amount of high quality produce grown on California farms.  The fact the California gives more money to The United States of America that any other state by a long shot.

There are many reasons that California is the most populous state.  People aren't living here because it sucks.  Home values aren't higher here because no one wants to live here.  I have lived in New York, Florida, and Nevada.  I have driven across our country many time, and up the entire eastern seaboard as well, and I like California the best.  People don't travel from around the world to go visit Georgia  :2funny:

Daddy o you keep ignoring the dire financial straits that California's towns, cities, and state government are in.

As a longtime member of the Board of Works locally, I know that if the government doesn't have the tax dollars to maintain the infrastructure, water, sewer, roads, etc and doesn't have the tax dollars to provide needed services like police, fire, and multiple other services that we take for granted, it makes no difference how successful personally that you might be.  Enjoy your beautiful California roads now, they won't stay that way.  My advice to you is to move to one of the southern states that have roads that are just as enjoyable as California roads.  I'll grant that the PCH might be an exception..

As for me, I'll continue to enjoy Indiana's more responsible government, albeit at the cost of being a flatland.

Good luck!  No more comment.

wow this thread is fun   :D

I am a registered democrat but my leanings are conservative, libertarian (yes I am conflicted)

At present this is so I can ATTEMPT to vote against those who are ruining (my opinion) my party and my nation in the primaries local and otherwise

I have rode my Valkyrie to Georgia for fun and to ride (on the VOAi rally based in Maggie Valley) after all its a stone throw from Tennessee and Virgina and Alabama,  (ooops does that make me a closet redneck)  Georgia has some nice roads, its just is a tad hot and humid for this northerner

California is beautiful

But then again so are many women out there

As pop would say, she may be nice to "visit" but ya wouldnt want to have to deal with the
high maintenance son

Now NY is no bargain because of the large number of people freeloading but that is a national problem and a cultural problem as well.  We have great scenery, weather and roads as well as
the BEST choices of food in the nation at our fingertips.   This weekend my wife daughter and I dined on Himalayan food that was amazing, just 15 minutes from our home.  NYC for all the bad worms is still one of the most popular destinations in the world its safe, convenient and you wont be bored or worry about earthquakes

Seriously now. I'm not looking to make a dig at your wife. What does the company do?

My wife works for a large biotech company.  She is a senior supervisor in cell culture manufacturing, and she leads the hiring team for her dept.  In short, she grows the cells to make the medicine that cures cancer among other things.  Business is booming, and the stock is up $100/share just since September.

As far as healthcare goes, the company self-insures it's employees, and has the insurance plan administered through our choice of either Kaiser or a PPO company.  It was Aetna, then Blue Cross/ Blue Shield, and now it's Allied Healthcare.  I choose what doctors I see, and I do not need pre-approval to see a specialist.  Obamacare is not a "government take over" of health care.  There are no "death panels".  :2funny:

Actually California is 11 th in population density
California cities that declared bankruptcy
City of San Bernardino, Calif.
Town of Mammoth Lakes, Calf.
City of Stockton, Calif.
Stockton, Calif., became the most populous city in the nation to go broke Monday, after a judge accepted the city's application to enter bankruptcy.
cost of living is highest along with Hawaii
California Still the Worst State for Business, CEOs Say
A new study from the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) examines the costs of education, health care and incarceration of illegal aliens, and concludes that the costs to Californians is $10.5 billion per year.
Among the key finding of the report are that the state's already struggling K-12 education system spends approximately $7.7 billion a year to school the children of illegal aliens who now constitute 15 percent of the student body. Another $1.4 billion of the taxpayers' money goes toward providing health care to illegal aliens and their families, the same amount that is spent incarcerating illegal aliens criminals.
You do have another fact wrong unemployment its at 14.5 percent coming down from 17 percent. The figure you quoted is only the ones looking for a job.
Why do they call them liberals? they are anything but, they don't like anyone who has a different idea and actually have less tolerance than conservatives so we need to find another name for them.
Does your wife also work in the field of stem cells? As a bio company that would be normal to offer health care to its employees just as hospitals do the same. It is kind of a shame that you dont look at the big picture when it comes to health care and choose like Congress to shield themselves from the truth of the matter. I guess as long as you are covered the heck with everyone else. As for the stock in the company your wife works for cancer is a great business as long as you don't have it and work in the field. Plenty of money pushed to find new ways to deal with it but just no real cures in all these years. Biotech companies with a new possible drug or anything to offer that may be the latest and greatest will always find those looking for a new way to make money to invest in their company. Like I said a great business to be in. At what age under Obama care do they not allow radiation treatment for cancer?
While California is no doubt beautiful with a lot to do its people don't do it justice. A beautiful ride along Big Sur is spoiled by mandatory helmet laws. I love San Jose or Napa Valley, Santa Barbra, Mission Bay and almost moved there.

The Obama Administration has stopped paying the bills from hundreds of health care companies, and it has nothing to do with sequestration. This is a story of bureaucratic mismanagement at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and the harm it's visiting on the diagnostic testing industry.

The federal government's unfunded health care obligations have grown by a whopping $17 trillion since the passage of President Obama's controversial reform bill, a new study has found.
Staff at the Senate Budget Committee, which calculated the figure using methods based on those used by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), found that total unfunded obligations for federal health care programs has jumped from $65 trillion in 2009 to $82 trillion in 2011.
Added to the government's existing obligation for entitlement programs like Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid, the total now comes to almost $100 trillion.

Last year, the former president of the American Medical Association (AMA), Donald Palmisano, wrote in a Daily Caller article that the main ObamaCare death panel, the Independent Payment Advisory Boards (IPAB), which is tasked with keeping Medicare expenses under control, poses an "immediate danger to seniors."  This panel of bureaucrats and the other ObamaCare advisory panels "will essentially mean rationed care" for the elderly.  Today Palmisano's prediction is coming true.

I asked you at what age under Obama care do they stop paying for chemo well its 76 so now how about the laugh of the answer of death panels?? I really guess ignorance is bliss, just like ignorance on Obama.
