It is truly great to hear from you, and Yes she is a keeper.
I know we all had our hands together for your recovery.
I have learned not to complain that I have no shoes, when
I see so many with no feet.

Been away from computer, glad to hear you are on the mend.  I would suggest you be patient with the healing process.  I am surprised the docs haven't said the emotional fragility is normal.  Have you ever known someone who had a recent stroke, they almost always cry at the drop of a hat for some months afterwards.  Brain trauma often causes the same kind of short circuiting of the areas that control emotions and, until it all heals up there, such effects are the norm.  Prozac seems like overkill.  For sleep, go to Walmart and grab a bottle of 1mg over the counter melatonin.  It is a natural sleep aid that won't make you feel groggy the next morning.  You can check with your doc to see if that is OK, but I never heard of any problems with other meds.  Try to do puzzles, crosswords, etc....work that brain back into shape.

Now if we can just get you to stop referring to yourself in the 3rd person  8)

How many times did you hear "you should be dead"? I did several times after I got whacked, but I wasn't!  Not unlike me, you survived and figured out that these doctors don't know us at all....Your will and support is / has been a wonderous thing! You will (in time) get things back, but just let it happen and don't get frustrated with it. Let it all happen and it will come to you. Its easy for everyone to say "relax" thats the toughest part now. Things just don't come fast enough when you are healing. Be patient.

What Hooter says.

When I had my 1st big one, I was on a rotisserie type bed for 3 1/2 months.

I had a hose in every orifice and other tubes stuck where I couldn't figure out what they were for or where they were stuck.

They came in and gave me a 1/4 of a turn every 4 hours.    I was suspended by a halo stuck in my head and straps or something on my ankles.    The ankle end had about a 5 or 6 # bag on it for tension.  Felt like 300# at times.   I walked out of the Oak Knoll Naval Hospital in Oakland, CA.    Dudley Perkins met me on a hard tail 81CI 3 speed.   At 1st I refused to get on it, but I finally figured out it was easier to ride than walk.    The rest is water under the dam.
