My brother(da prez)had this stuff in his car/bike cleaning bucket and I used a dab after visiting Wayne(Solo 1)in Indyanner. Liked what it did so frikkin much I ordered my own!!

It's a 2 part system from California Custom. The first part is an aluminum deoxidizer and the second part is The original Purple Metal Polish. It is easy to use and it leaves one whale of a shine on the wheels and fork lowers. I also found an added side benefit-it takes the haze off the plastic headlight covers-did my Olds and my friends Subaru headlight covers and they look like new now. Just the polish-NOT the deoxidizer. I am in NO WAY affiliated with or get any monetary compensation from this product-just a happy customer. Thanks Brother! Been lookin' for sumthin! Wheels on Old No. 7 haven't ever been polished to the best of my knowledge & I've been dread'n that project. (They look pretty bad.)
Gonna give it a try.
If I can remember, I'll get some before & after pic's & post 'em. If it does what they say, the difference should be extreme on these wheels.

On the left fork lower I had a thick something or other that the deoxidizer or the polish WOULD NUT cut.

Took some 400 grit sand paper-got down to the aluminum-and the polish brought the shine up after using the 400 grit paper. Glad I could be of service Mr. Whiskey.

I just ordered some of the de-oxidizer and the polish. Just how good does it work? Would you say it polishes the wheels so well that they almost look chrome?

If so, "Now THAT'S what I'm talkin about!"

Oh, and thanks for the recommendation. I think you might have hit a home run stumbling on to this product. If the truckers like it, it must be good, eh?

I've been painting the triangular openings of the front wheel the last 2 days and have been up close and personal with my wheels and forks. Considering that the wheels are 14 years and 4 months old and I've used this stuff ONCE on my wheels the transformation is in the WOW category!!

I do have VERY VERY minor pitting in the exposed surface of the wheel BUT you have to be RIGHT next to it to see the pitting. And being as I used to prep cars and motorcycles for shows it is noticeable to ME. Of all the stuff I've used over the years and remembering i'm a hell of a lot older now-this stuff for hand application is the most user friendly I've ever had. I mentioned some"stuff"that I needed 400 grit paper to remove and was able to bring out a shine with the Purple Metal Polish. I ain't real big on endorsements UNLESS what I'M ENDORSING actually works in my own application or in this case my little shop where I put my sweat equity in. But as with any new product you try-take a couple of minutes and go over the directions as the first time I used it at my brothers place I didn't follow instructions.

Hope this is of some help to some folks. I feel I M H O that the investment in the product is totally worth it.

Dennis, because we live up North, I've had my wheels off and against the ole drill press a few times to get salt pitting out. . I start with a 300 grit and work my way up.

I'll bet this stuff works wonders for the final polish. I currently use "TheBomb" and it does a pretty decent job. Can't wait for the new Cali Custom stuff to arrive. Thanks again!

I've used White Diamond on my wheels before and they turned out pretty good...not great, but pretty good. The White Diamond polish is a pretty darn good metal polish and pretty great chrome polish IMHO.

However, you've sold me and I've placed an order too.

Hondas clearcoat starts to come off and makes the fork lowers look bad. I polished mine but started with the wheel and fender off. Hold paper over the slider tube and sprayed oven cleaner on the casting. Wait 10 minutes and wash it off. Reapply if needed. Then start sanding with 800 wet N dry. Finish off with 1500 paper and then polish.

I did the switch covers on my I/S today after I washed it. The only drawback I've seen is that stuff(switch covers)that was NOT reflecting sunlight before reflect sunlight now-with a VENGANCE.

I tried to buy this stuff, not outside the USA. I e-mailed them and got a prompt reply from Mike giving me the name and address of a local dealer. I bought some and tonight I went to my driveway...

Now, on the other side of that rim I spent about 1 minute spreading the de-oxidizer, waiting 5 min whilst shaking the Purple Polish (largely solids; it takes a LOT of shaking) then about a minute of spreading then buffing. This is with a cloth only, and 6 minutes without removing the wheel.

I can only imagine taking an afternoon and my electric buffer to my rims! I'm sold.

From the pics I have seen here, this does as well as White Diamond and not any better IMO.... but pictures can be deceiving, especially when viewed on a PC. White Diamond changed their formula the last year or two to include a wax to help prolong the shine.... and it works well.

Has anyone done an actual side by side comparison with White Diamond?? What about price difference?

I have tried a lot of products and this is what I use on my streetrod. I clean the car at the start of the show seasons , and only do touch-up for the rest of the year. I have a brass radiator that stays clean and shiny if people keep their hands off. On the rest of the car and Valk I use mist and shine.
If you clean the bike well and then use mist and shine , it will stay clean. I rinse with plain water and reuse the mist and shine if it does not shine.
I do not gain anything but knowing that I shared with others. I let O2S use it and never thought it could clean his bike. Tho his bike will never shine like mine , it does look better. ( he will say I do not ride as much as he does)

I'm waiting on delivery today - I have and use White Diamond, but thought this looked like a worthy competitor - I don't have much on the Valkyrie that needs cleaning, but have some serious areas on the Triumph that I think will benefit from Calif Customs !

Home depot sells a drain cleaner it comes in a black bottle in a plastic bag called hair grease drain cleaner,put it on any aluminum and it will take all the coating off,only leave it on for a few min,and use gloves then you can shine to your liking,I got this from some hot rod car website,it on u tube also,it beats trying to sand or billo pad first
