_Sheffjs_:

As some of you have recently met us we are Jerry and Sherry Sheffer and we live in Ellenton; along with us for some rides is Sherry's brother John Paul. John Paul has a black 99 Tourer and we have a black 2000 I/S. Recently Sherry and I bought what we call the "cottage",  a 900sf home tucked back off a road in Zephyrhills.  It is a weekend getaway and great start point for tons of rides. We know it is not far from Ellenton,  however we are very happy with it. We are thinking that one day (if there is any money left) this will be our winter home and we will build on our 6.5acre lot in Mountain Home,  AR. and be done with this ellenton area we don't much care for anymore. Now that we are settled, we want to post dates we are planning Brooksville area rides in hopes we can get a few more Valks along.  We also want to have tons of Valks in the yard so consider the cottage open for stops. Especially helpful for those coming from far away. We realize that it is beastly hot now,  however I would encourage  early rides as I feel getting back by 11:30am works well. Our ride Saturday was just that, and it was really nice for a good part of that being 70°.  We will be up Thursday night
the 22nd  and open for a ride early Friday and Saturday. We will also be up thursday night the 29th and open for a ride early Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday (the Holiday) also for this weekend we were wondering if there is a day we could host a burger/dog cook out as I would love to line the yard with Valks for all my new neighbors to see. We will be posting more dates as well. Text or call...
Jer cell: 941-685-4094; Sherry cell: 941-685-4095. For a cookout we would need a count and the best day for everyone to plan. Sorry, we will not have any alcohol.

It's good to see your enthusiasm shining through.  We need more folks that love the bike and want to share the wind.  Although we really don't like to get out of our comfort zone and go South of Ocala we would try to support a gathering of the Valkyries at your new place.

valkchik:
Can't wait to see the new place. We are game for something this coming weekend, as long as the ride starts in Brooksville around  8am  and  gets us back to Lakeland by noon.  Otherwise it is just way too hot in our big black full-face, smothering helmets. We could ride without them but I'm not sure I like the choice of either frying our brains inside the helmets, or risk scrambling them on the side of the road without them. Yikes! But we'll see what the others say. If everyone decides the holiday weekend, I would recommend Saturday or Sunday as many of us probably have things planned with family on Labor Day itself.  Thanks for the invite, guys!

Tropic traveler:
Sounds great! I'll have to check the work schedule & confer with Kim.

Well, small world indeed....Mt. Home, Arkansas. That's where my folks retired to many years ago after fifty years of teaching in the Iowa school system. I've spent many a day there, used to fly in to the Badger Regional a/p with my former wife who was also a licensed "pile-it." One of our favorite places to also fly to was Gaston's White River Resort. They had cabins on the river, fantastic restaurant, and a grass strip to land on. Some years ago they extended the strip, making it a bit less harrowing on take off since the terrain rose rather quickly around there. When the folks first built in Mt. Home, they were on the edge of town. By the time they had both passed, their house was surrounded. My bro-in-law still lives in their old house, my sister having passed away a couple years back. I've not been back since 1999, too many memories I guess. I know the town is booming, and always liked to travel the countryside with dad....he was a walking history book. You'll enjoy the area; lots of wildlife, fishing, hunting, and great riding.
