QuoteWe also need to ask folks to keep Whiskey , Sugar and Sam in their thoughts and prayers that they heal fast . I also hope the guy that caused this crash that involved them has insurance and it takes care of all
medical bills , physical therapy the loss of property etc ,etc.

Ditto that, Joe.
Please keep Missy (Sugar) in your thoughts as well. Seven broken ribs is nothing to sneeze at.
Deej was scared he had lost his beloved Sugar on the mountain. Can't imagine seeing a loved one being air-lifted away...
I'm sure Mr Whiskey will post updates when he feels like it...

Was a rough day, Saturday, with all this bad news. We were in hospital all day because Theresa's son, Vinny, was struck by a hit-and-run driver. He is lucky to be alive, as well...

Wow this is all so tragic. Prayers go out to all involved.

This has been a tough post to read, had to actually take a break and come back.
Read the post "smoking Joe" yesterday and was expecting more bad news but did not think it was going to be this bad or did not want to think it will be this way.

I did not know Roger personally but it is with a heavy heart that I write this.
My prayers for his family, that they may find the kind of peace that only God can give.

Rest in peace Roger

Mr Whiskey

To Kitty. I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. We were shocked simply speechless when we heard the news about Roger this morning. Who would believe that 2 such horrible accidents could occur in such a short space on the same ride. I jus' don't have the words to express how we feel.
I only got to ride with Roger a couple of times but it was my pleasure to know him & share the wind with him. He will be greatly missed by all here!
Kitty, may God bless you & keep you in this time of loss.
Peace, Whiskey.
Peace, Whiskey.

Terrible.  Devastating news.  I don't know anyone involved, but am well acquainted with losing friends in an unexpected manner.  Praying for the family and for those who are recovering.

Disco

I can hardly find the words to say how sorry I am for all who have been and will be affected by this tragedy.  Going out quickly and while doing what you love is some solace, but how 'bout at 93 or 103?  63 is way too young.  Life is so fragile.  It can change - or end - so quickly.  I hope that Roger's friends and family can find comfort and peace.

Rest in Peace, Roger.

I too find myself at a loss for words.

And, couldn't express it any better than this even if I wasn't.  :'(  :'(

I rode to church yesterday and later read this story.
It brakes my heart when I read these stories of loosing
our brothers. I pray that he did not suffer.
I can only pray for those of us that are left behind.
May we all find peace in this some how.
My prayers to family and friends.

Here in NE Indiana there are so many in the VRCC that I haven't met.  Although I haven't met any of those hurt in this tragic weekend, my heart and prayers go out to all who are recovering and ,most of all, Prayers go out to Roger's family.

Sorry to read this, prayers and thoughts to all involved from MA.

I don't get to ride with the VRCC much anymore due to business that keeps me traveling away from home more than I'd like, but I still "lurk" here all the time to keep up with you guys. I always enjoy reading about your rides while I'm sitting in a hotel somewhere and love to see the pics. I still have 2 Valks but mostly ride alone or with my son now. I also ride the VMax a lot now too when I can. I've ridden with Roger several times and always enjoyed our conversations.(I'm in the Sturgis '04 shirt beside Joe in Stanley's pictures). I am deeply saddened to hear this bad news about all involved and extend my deepest sympathy to his family. Prayers for a speedy recovery to Whiskey, Sugar, and Sam too...RIP RamJet

Pappy!

RIP Ramjet - seems like such a cruel way to go, doing something you enjoy so much. I guess God had a purpose for him or at least I hope so.
For Kitty, we can only hope she has the strength to keep going through her trials. Can pray for that and that eventually she will get through this.
I have witnessed two separate MC accidents in a 7-day period this Summer and thought that was bad enough. I was wrong.

Willow

I don't want us to let this slip away too quickly.

If you haven't yet read this thread take the time to read through it.  If you've already read it take a few moments to let it touch you, feel what life is, and think about what's gone.

Someone who was one of us has been taken away.

RainMaker

Just now reading this.  One of the saddest threads I've ever seen.  May the Lord bless and comfort all who have been touched by these accidents and heal both body and mind of them all.

Very, very sorry to hear of Ramjet's death.

Hopefully, Thumper is showing him where the twisties are even as we think of them.

Good call Rainmaker. I was thinking of Thumper, his brother Greg, Pat Noll and now Roger all riding the roads of heaven! Sounds great.  8) You can bet Thumper is leading. They can have their own Fall Color Ride.  :cooldude:

Unbelievable.....Prayers for Kitty and family.....my heart is heavy....

Dubsvalk

As some of you who are close to me already know, I have been reluctant over my many years of riding to ride with groups.  The primary reason being it is so hard to see wonderful people, friends, be taken from us.  A part of each one of us goes with the spirit of those taken.  And a part of each one rides with us from that moment on.  I have ridden with you and have mourned the passing of several of our own and will unfortunately mourn those yet to go.  But this is a part of living which we must accept and carry with us.  I have Thumper's picture on my wall to remind me every day of my own mortality and to make sure I try to live my life as passionately as he did.  Now Roger joins him to insure we all live up to passion they carried with them to live life to its fullest.  My prayers go to Kitty and family for strength and comfort as they mourn the loss of a very special human being.  A man willing to live his life on his terms, who gave more than he expected in return.  And who leaves each of us a legacy to carry his torch!

Though I haven't met him I truelly am saddened by the news of one of our brothers passing on... My condolences to everyone and a very strong warm hug and wish for his family and Wife... Please let us not forget Just how strong one person is but also how much stronger we all can be for those who band together in the time of need.

Motorcycling is not, of itself, inherently dangerous.
It is however, extremely unforgiving of: inattention, ignorance, incompetence or stupidity.

This touches my heart in ways that are hard to explain. Although I have not had the great pleasure to ride with any of you, and relative to many I am somewhat of a newbie to this great brotherhood, I feel an attachment that is hard to describe. We all ride with the same wind in our faces, the same roar of the F6, and with the same risks no matter where we are geographically.

I am heartbroken at Roger's passing and my sympathy goes out to his family and those of you that had the great pleasure to ride with him. My sincere condolences to all of you.

And to those injured, may HE that protects and loves us all guide the hands of those that oversee your healing and recuperation. And may HE also welcome Roger to the band of brothers that have gone on before him.

These kinds of events serve to strengthen my resolve to eventually have the privilege to share the road with you, the members of the VRCC.

Again, my sincere condolences to Roger's family and wishes for complete recoveries for those injured. These are indeed very difficult threads to read.  :(
