President Obama will go down as one of the greatest presidents in history.  I wouldn't be surprised if his likeness will be imprinted on our money one day.  Saving this country from the Great Recession?  Check.  Equal pay for women doing equal work?  Check.  Saving the US Auto industry?  Check.  Ending don't ask don't tell?  Check.  Making Supreme Court appointments that contributed to the ending of DOMA?  Check.  Creating Obamacare with patient rights?  Check.  Getting us out of 2 wars, and hopefully avoiding a third?  Check.

George W. Bush will go down as one of the worst presidents ever.  Taking a surplus and turning it into a deficit?  Check.  Ignoring intelligence briefings therefore allowing 9/11?  Check.  Using false data to convince America to enter a war we never should have started?  Check.  Leaving office with an annual budget deficit of over a trillion dollars a year?  Check.  Hemorrhaging jobs at a rate of over 800,000 a month?  Check.  Leave the economy in it's worst state since the Great Depression?  Check.

Tell me again about how intelligent President Bush was?

Thank you for noticing! I actually spent a goodly amount of time searching for just the right picture of a box of rocks to use. I never imagined there'd be so many to choose from, but most of them just weren't quite right... That one just "did it" for me, ya' know?

SOME folks have REAL issues with simple FACTS in history, do they not Patrick? Even to the point of not knowing who 'gets us out of a war'. Pretty astonishing.

Your friend contends Obuma got us out of Iraq.

Discussing current events with someone that has no respect/regard for simple historical FACTS is like trying to discuss algebra with someone that does not think 2 + 2 equals 4. It is hopeless.........as you suggested.

George W. Bush negotiated & signed the agreement/treaty that enabled, and set in-place the USA's withdraw from Iraq. All Obuma done was abide by the treaty.

----The U.S.–Iraq Status of Forces Agreement (official name: "Agreement Between the United States of America and the Republic of Iraq On the Withdrawal of United States Forces from Iraq and the Organization of Their Activities during Their Temporary Presence in Iraq") was a status of forces agreement (SOFA) between Iraq and the United States, signed by President George W. Bush in 2008. It established that U.S. combat forces would withdraw from Iraqi cities by June 30, 2009, and all U.S. forces will be completely out of Iraq by December 31, 2011----

' Cop-out ' ? So be it, thats OK. To back up any of my arguments, all one has to do is look at the facts. Trying to force something on anyone doesn't work. One just has to take it upon themselves to take the time to look into the issues rather than just listen to these overpaid talking heads. I've already spent way too much time trying to convince folks that I know and talk with on a regular basis. They don't listen and refuse to believe the trouble we're in. It just plain doesn't pay to try and talk sense with some people. They think can win a discussion just because they may have the last word. So I now just talk to folks about the important issues of our times such as sports, fishing, etc.

Please do your research better. When GW Bush took over as president the preceeding administration had added 1.44 Trillion to the national debt in the last two years and there was a start of a recession. The Bush tax cuts instead of tax increases and stimilus was his attempt to revive the economy.

You give Clinton too much credit for the surplus because there was also a Republican House and Senate that could pass budgets.

Flame on everyone.

Not everything. There's some stuff that hasn't happened yet that we won't be able to blame on him and so far I can't find a connection to the Fukushima mess.

But as POTUS you don't let your worm of a VP call the shots. So it's still Bush's fault.

We all know Bush signed the agreement to remove troops.  As commander in chief President Obama had opportunity to alter agreements based upon what was best for our troops.  You know, the same Obama that had the foresight to know we shouldn't start a war in Iraq in the first place.  The Obama administration isn't run by Halliburton like the last one though.

I hate to pile it on here because we often find common ground in these matters, but you have to admit that this inconsistency is vexing.

Selling me a used part for less than you paid for it new is not helping me out.  In fact, it's me helping you out by paying you money for an unused part.  You are welcome.  :cooldude:

I've bought many things, and sold many things.  Never did I consider that in recouping money I spent on an item I was "helping someone out."  We helped each other out.  I got a discount on a part that I could use by buying it used, and you got money for a part that you used and replaced with a superior part.  Please don't pretend you were doing me a favor, you approached me with your offer to sell me something, and I bought it.  In these situations, both people usually shake hands and say "thanks" to each other.

When I respond to illogical political posts, I am not expecting to win friends and influence people.  I know full well that this board is full of Republicans.  When I post, I know full well that I won't hear a cogent, logical response to my arguments, but instead will hear a rash of insults, and they usually won't be directed at my arguments, they will be directed at me personally.  I will be told I'm a dumb, blind, "stupider" person that is on drugs, drinking kool-aid, and kissing Obama's ass while wearing rose colored glasses.  I will be told that I am a "piece of work", incapable of basic comprehension.  I could go on and on.
