That there are a few notable forum posters who ONLY post in political threads.

They don't seem to post in threads to do with motorcycle riding, safety, trips etc etc.

Just sitting around waiting to force their vast political knowledge at others.

Funny old world.

I've noticed some, Paul, who specifically only post to straighten out or ridicule those who are of an opposing political view.  Then there are many, including yourself and some posters in this thread, who post on other topics as well, but feel compelled to stir up political rancor with exactly the same style of post that you are now complaining of.

I don't think any of us would walk into a room filled with people of varying political positions and immediately start up conversations intended to ridicule those who see the world and country differently than ourselves.  We need to clean our own behavior before we complain about others.

Paul, you are a big part of the problem.   You have in no way made yourself any part of the solution.

I have been in conversation with the other staff about my intents to move away from constantly monitoring this board.  You, the ones you complain about and a handful of others are the reason why.

The ignore feature is a good thing to use for folks who offend you rather than trying to call them out into a public argument.

Liberals

They haunt conservative forums with a sole purpose.  To waste your time.  One Liberal can get piles of Conservatives so locked up in their emotions they do not use tat energy to recruit voters to the blessed right side of politics.  Then they will sit back to mock and laugh at you.

Its nice to know you consider this site as a conservative forum not a motorcycle forum.  Its people like you that tum most of us away from this place.

OK go ahead and do what you guys do, call me a troll, bottom feeder like this conservative board always does.

Britmann,

I read your post and it made me think "am I the one he's talking about?"  yes, I do post on many political posts, only when what I read makes me say "man, that guys an idiot, let me enlighten them!"

I try to post as much "cycle" stuff as I can think of, but with winter coming, it's kinda hard to be in the cycle attitude when you're not riding!!  I enjoy your posts, read 'em often, I really enjoy Smokin Joe's posts when he's out riding in the middle of January and all I can do is think "boy, how am I going to dig the trailer out of the 8' high snow bank so I can trailer my cycle to at least Illinois to go riding?

my father always told me "never argue with a retarted person" so I find myself becoming an introvert.......

as you said about this website, there are a lot of political posts, the thing about the VOAI is that there's only about 8 to 10 people that visit it, or post on it, so it gets kinda boring, but there's very little political posts on it.  people have to realize that all the political crap really turns people off to this site, and really, it might be a good idea to have the administrators just delete them when they start......

anyway, Brittman, do me a favor, post more of those "Isle of Mann" videos!!  I love 'em!!

Well said there Willow.
After being away from the board for a few years after selling my Valk, I was amazed at the difference and at the anger in so many threads and the way people were using the board to push their own political agenda. We all have and are entitled to our own opinions, no matter what country we live in the world, I think it's called Democracy  . Maybe some of the new members are more interested in pushing their own beliefs rather than riding their bikes.
I will take your advise and use the ignore button cause I believe this page is for fun and information sharing about bikes...Valkyrie Bikes..and the odd Harley post...just to keep things non political

I use this board for motorcycle communication, plus it seems that it's a good place to send my riding vids. 8)

It has been requested by members more times than can be counted, but there is a small group of very vocal conservatives that are backed by the site's administrators (who share their ideology) that do not want there to be a separate politics section.  What they prefer is for 1/3 of the threads to be political threads complaining about the current administration, where anyone with a different viewpoint will be personally attacked.  Then they create other threads complaining about political threads and having to monitor them.  Really they are into complaining.  A lot.  Yes, it has turned many members away, or made members that aren't in the conservative good-ol-boys club post less.

So far my observation is ALL of them have been correct in part and incorrect in part

Over the years I have stolen some of Mase's pics and shamelessly posted them, sometimes crediting him and sometimes not  like this one I believe

Check out this little gem:

Valkyrie Riders Cruiser Club was started because of the need to provide a place where Honda Valkyrie Riders could band together and share the combined wealth of knowledge about this great motorcycle. A simple place with no political structure and where malice toward other Motorcycle Riders will not be tolerated.

This line of bullshit is the first line you find when reading the About section of the VRCC.  I say it's bullshit not because I disagree with the sentiment, but because every single day you will see a crap ton of malice directed at Valkyrie riders that do not share conservative political ideology.

Instead of providing a place where Valkyrie riders could band together, it has become a place that is meant to drive Valkyrie riders with opposing political views away.  Matter of fact, if not for political postings you all would consider Wayne, Anvil, and I as part of the brotherhood of Valkyrie riders.  You will say, it's not what they said, but how they said it, without considering how you have said what you have said as well.

That is a weak ass excuse if ever I heard one.  Why would there be more to moderate?  A political post is a political post, if it is in general or in an off topic section.  You don't see a bunch of Classified posts in General.  You don't see a bunch of Tech posts in General.  Those posts don't occur in General because it is common sense that if you want to place a Classified Ad you do it in the Classified section.  The same would be true of a Politics or Off-Topic Section.  Don't hide behind the "it would be more work" b.s.  It is because you like having the forum as a conservative political forum, and don't care much about the idea of it being a place for Valkyrie owners to band together, where no malice toward other Valkyrie riders will be tolerated.

The simple fact is that having a General Forum where politics is argued is incompatible with having a General Forum for Valkyrie owners to band together without malice.
