Ill say it again, that is what a vakyrie is, a stripped down goldwing. That is what our bikes are, and thats what the new one is.

The Valk IS is a stripped down Goldwing? Nope.

:uglystupid2:  WNGD:The Valkyrie has always been an essentially stripped down Gold Wing.
The 2014 shares the engine and the ignition and computers along with the Twin spar boxed aluminum frame around the engine, but other than that what???? ??? The rear sub frame is different, the wheels, the handle bar, The Valkyrie has a traditional gas tank, different fork rake and trail, different seats, The rider sits farther back with higher and more forward  foot pegs, different instruments , different exhaust. You've been clear that you don't like it, but no matter how many times you say it isn't, the new bike is the 2014 Valkyrie :2funny: :2funny: :2funny: :2funny: :2funny:

I reiterate:

Honda owns the name "Valkyrie" in regards to motorycle.

Much like we each own our own names.

Whatever Honda wants to build and call a Valkyrie Motorcycle, IS a Valkyrie motorcycle.

Just like if you're John Doe whatever you want build John Doe into, it WILL BE John doe.

Well, I've got to say, there is only one Valkyrie. Then, Honda made the Valkyrie Rune. Honda's new motorcycle is a Gold Wing Valkyrie. If you buy one, you won't have a new Valkyrie, will have a Gold Wing Valkyrie. I already have a Valkyrie, they don't make them anymore and they never will. I like my Valkyrie, and I like the new Gold Wing Valkyrie. If I was going to buy a new motorcycle, I would buy one. But I don't need one. My next motorcycle will be a sohc CB750. I need one of those, bad!

one thing is for sure, lots of people wanted a more traditional look for the new valk...

(thank you captain obvious)

they sure took a different tack and my wife hates it, I kinda like it.

That's what I mean. It's not a new Valkyrie, it's a sassy Gold Wing. A Gold Wing Valkyrie.
As a Gold Wing, I like it o.k.

The NEW Valk has about as much in common with the OLD Valks as the NEW Interstate has to do with the OLD Interstate.

Our Valks were a hot-rodded traditionally styled motorcycle using the old 1500 goldwing engine.

The new Goldwing Valkyrie is just a cheap stripped down 1800 Goldwing.  Period.  Not evolutionary, not radical, not very innovative either.

You can love or hate, but it doesn't change what it is.

I don't hate it, I just don't care for it one way or the other.  It's not something I'd buy.

I keep reading comparisons with Interstate name. The Interstate has never been the singular model designation. My 81 Silver Wing was an Interstate. Remember when you could buy three models of Gold Wing? The standard, the interstate and the Aspencade. Then there was the SEI and Anniversary editions. Look on the Honda site, right at the top it says Valkyrie. It is the Valkyrie and those that insist that its not are just kidding yourselves. You don't have to like it. :D
To say it doesn't have anything in common with the old Valks is simply incorrect.Honda did change key elements from the Gold Wings regardless of whether you choose to recognize that. Yes you don't care for the styling choice Honda chose. Look at the CTX line. It isn't just the new Valkyrie. Honda has gone a direction with their bikes, like it or not.
