The TPMS on my '12 Subaru will also freak out if the tire is Over pressurized. Found that out when I bought it. New car, I didn't check the tire pressure until the tmps freaked out and I found out that the dealer never lowered the tires from their shipping pressure of 45#. As for how your dealer handled it is Crappy IMHO.  I just had the subie in for minor warranty work ( seat wearing funny) and when I picked it up the informed me that it had been low on washer solvent so they topped it off, and that the tech had noticed that the steering wheel was a bit crooked so he did an alignment while he was changing the seat. All done at no charge.  When I was leaving I asked again about charges for the alignment and the owner said MErry Christmas!
