ROBERTSON FAMILY STATEMENT: "We want to thank all of you for your prayers and support. The family has spent much time in prayer since learning of A&E's decision. We want you to know that first and foremost we are a family rooted in our faith in God and our belief that the Bible is His word. While some of Phil's unfiltered comments to the reporter were coarse, his beliefs are grounded in the teachings of the Bible. Phil is a Godly man who follows what the Bible says are the greatest commandments: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart" and "Love your neighbor as yourself." Phil would never incite or encourage hate. We are disappointed that Phil has been placed on hiatus for expressing his faith, which is his constitutionally protected right. We have had a successful working relationship with A&E but, as a family, we cannot imagine the show going forward without our patriarch at the helm. We are in discussions with A&E to see what that means for the future of Duck Dynasty. Again, thank you for your continued support of our family.

It's quite clear that you have not read the context of the GQ interview and think that his expressions, freedoms of speech and religion are bashing and should not be tolerated and he should be censored.  Yet, here you are publicly bashing a man because he speaks his religion and exercises his freedoms of religion and speech.....  just because your views might not agree with his.  If you think that he should be censored and not allowed his freedom of religion and speech, then maybe you and most of the other liberals that think like you wouldn't have issue and be more than willing to set the example and censor yourself, no longer exercise your freedoms of religion or speech?

He'll be back on the show but with a different network.

Duck dynasty won't be on much longer anyways.  Most reality TV shows go away after a few years is all and this one won't last much longer anyways although I do enjoy the show especially 1st and 2nd season.  Now, it it too scripted and not seeming as real like the writers are trying too hard to come up with funny episodes.

A few weeks ago the same program was under fire from the producers for invoking Jesus Christ in their prayers. Seems, just like homosexuals, you cannot say anything to offend Muslims either.

Odd, a Muslim FaceBook contact, a Yemini immigrant, posted today that he enjoyed the show, liked that the family prayed together and didn't have a problem with those prayers being Christian, in nature.  He made a point of saying that he was not offended and that any Muslims who claimed to be offended were liars.

In my town of  Corpus Christi (meaning, "Body of Christ") there was talk about  erecting a statue of Christ overlooking  Corpus Christi Bay.  The idea was abandoned after opposition from the Jewish community, not from  the Muslims, or homosexuals. Muslims are the ones  in the barrel, at this point, so there wasn't a lot of "Freedom of Speech" racket, and if you think criticizing homosexuals will bring down a firestorm, buck the Jewish community.

Personally, I think Christians' worst enemy is themselves.   Being some kind of heathen, I find the idea that homosexuals and their supporters "deserve to die" (according to Romans) is barbaric, and doesn't jibe with the concept of a loving god.

A hateful bigot loses his reality tv show.  Boo hoo.  Other videos are surfacing with him evangelizing with more hate speech.  Is it his right to say what he wants?  Sure.  It's his bosses right to fire him, and even sue for breach of contract and for doing damage to the network's brand.

Now the quack can go back to making things that go quack.

I really dont think this should be turned into a political  debate where liberals and conservatives take sides, I think you will see both support Phil Robertson.  I grew up in a religious family, we sat down at the table and my father said prayers before every meal.  We went to church twice on Sunday and prayer meetings every Wednesday.  I am a democrat and I have the same core values as they do, God fearing and gun owning.

I went to A & E's page in facebook and the first thing you see is a big picture of some rodeo girls in bikinis, it seems like they live in a double standard, promoting scantily dressed girls and condemning an old man that believes in the bible .

I am not 100% sure and I probably should not say this without looking it up but I do believe A & E is owned by Disney Channel, you know, the channel that gave us Miley Cyrus and Lindsey Lohan.

Phil Robertson will be supported by both sides

The wages of sin are death. Romans 1 doesn't in any way say what you suggest.

The lost and undone choose death. Not death like when you get shot by a robber,
death in Christ.

The law was brought in so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. : Romans 5

YUP more compassion from the ultra left that preaches human compassion doesn't seem to extend it to those with different views I guess. OH wait isn't that the meaning of bigot or at very least hateful. What frigging hypocrisy. Maybe the only way these people can have compassion, is on those who are codependent on them. At least they have a captive audience.

Mike you better keep reading then.  The Bible says that ALL have gone astray.  None have done good enough to get to heaven.  We all deserve the same death.  Only by the blood of Christ are we found acceptable.

Evidence of the change, evidence that one loves their savior is their sincere desire to obey His commandments.  The homosexual act is definitely not consistent with those commandments, either are the other sins Phil Robertson mentioned.

So, Mike (or anyone)......If Christ is not your savior, even though God is Love, He is Holy and without Christ you (even though you are a good person) wont make it either

I cant understand why some individuals can not accept a difference of opinion when it's against their own viewpoint, then spew insults mainly because they don't really have an argument to support their own view.

I FIGURED IT OUT!

The problem here is ignorance. So let me educate..

Christians simply live their life by a standard set by God in the Bible. When a Christian is asked about the standard they live by, they are not expressing their own bigoted opinion. They are indeed stating a fact that they didn't write, conjure, make up, or state to piss anyone off.

So why then do people take such offense when a Christian quotes the Bible? Because they want to be offended. See, believe it or not there are two separate discussion going on here. The offended has assumed that a person is on the attack. NO. Phil only addressed the act of sin. Two separate things. For example I am a good standing Christian who is full of sin. My fellow Christians do not hate me, but they do not like the acts of sin I commit. I see no bigoted judgement in any of this.

there was a time when pop and cool-aid were both sugary drinks that were only treats given when you had a birthday party.  now, pop is the only thing kids drink today, and oddly enough cool-aid is actually better for you since it's made of REAL sugar and not corn syrup, plus you can lesson the amount of sugar so it's not so darn sweet.  and yet when a person is accused of "drinking the cool-aid" they're compared to being lemmings following the crowd.  interesting.....

The only weapon that the liberals and those doing things contrary to the Bible have to defend themselves with is insults. All and I mean all people are created with not only certain unalienable rights but with a internal moral compass and guide. This was done when God created man. Now if you go against this internal compass then you will feel it emotionally and sometimes physically. But if your ways are so set so as to not change your ways then when others say what is wrong in quoting the Bible those that are doing the wrong thing feel convicted and persecuted. That is why in Jesus time when the Pharisees were told what they did there was gnashing of teeth. Internal conviction is not fun and its a nagging truth so when someone brings this up you want them to shut up. When you do wrong what defense is there? Calling names and insults only go so far especially when you never deal with the issue.  Especially when you also want to get your way and nothing else matters. Intellect can only carry you so far till you have to decide what to do about your spirit.

As far as a-holes, they are all over.   Phil R. has a right to say what he wants and the network has a right to fire him although it will end up hurting the network far more than Phil's wallet and feelings.

Off topic a tad, but I have an a-hole supervisor (make that 3 I deal with daily) who I have to work with who really should've been fired years ago for harrassment and threatening remarks to all not just me and TOTALLY deserved with HR opening up a huge lawsuit for not doing what they know that has been going on for decades.  Yet, HR chooses to turn their heads when it happens EVERY SINGLE WEEK.  I should've kept a running log of every single incident I have been involved in or heard and hired a lawyer to sue the company and make millions off of them.  Yet, I trudge one!  I even went last week to the a-holes boss and just said put 'Joe Blow'  on a short leash or I WILL and walked out, yet the a-holes boss I told chooses to ignore it as well since he is an a-hole as well and everyone knows it below them all.  Time to clean house!  :tickedoff:

3 people have left and soon to be 4 in past few months and yet NO new hires to replace 2 of the 3 gone.  I wonder when HR will get the hint when the rest of us office staff leave for good?  The voluntary leaves (not firing) by my co-workers should have HR wondering what is happening but they know exactly what is going on yet they turn their heads and walk away.
The 5-6 other 'good' people I work with I have talked to stating all of us should go on strike and not come in for 1 month and see if that changes their ways maybe they will get the hint?   Time to clean house and fire all the supervisors simple as that.  :uglystupid2:

Reading these threads is like watching the "View" or the "Wendy Williams Show" with the sound off. This is got to be a comedy act, right!!!!
On another point, just because you can read the "GOOD BOOK" it doesn't make you are a Christian and just because you can quote a few passages doesn't mean you understand it.   Some people just use it to try and manipulate others for their self gratification.  I feel only true believers respect and understand what it is really saying and just throw it out there to degrade others is only to satisfy their self centered egos.   I would rather be a liar and a sinner than be a religious hypocrite.  Being a liar and a sinner, one knows where they stand, but being a religious hypocrite you think you are fooling your creator.  They will say and do anything to be on the winning team, you can't trust them. They are really sad!!!!  So, where do you stand?  "Ignorance is a fact of life, but stupidity  is ones choice."

This is television. Robertson can say what he wishes. His views are his own and he proudly owns them.
A&E can do what they want. If they want to ban Robertson from the production it is their right.

The Robertson clan was doing just fine before A&E and will continue to be just fine. Even without A&E.

I do believe A&E will take a hit for their actions.

It also seems to be an action that should have the likes of A&E, Discovery, History channel and such, publicly vet their characters before production of their shows.

Yeppers, Mr. Robertson can advocate his opinion and A&E can do their thing, it's their net work and Mr. Robertson is basically an employee.   Not sure if a company can legally punish and employee for espousing his opinion but, it must be legal.    Regardless, I don't watch A&E at all, not much they present that interests me.   But, I do most likely use some of their advertisers products.   That my friend is the key.    Let those advertisers know you don't appreciate A&E position.   Money can and will influence A&E decision.
If GLAAD doesn't like it, they can do the same thing.   I don't know for sure but, GLAAD only has the clout we and the media give them.   I'd tell them to kiss my arse or suck my ....... But, they are already into that sort of thing.   Sorry if I offended anyone with that statement but, I tend to agree with Mr. Robertson and, I won't apologize for that.

Nonbelievers who have strong beliefs about what Christians consider moral or immoral are kind of like non-riders making pronouncements about motorcycle safety issues, or people who don't know enough about hockey to know what "icing" is, loudly talking about the right or wrong age to allow body checking.

On the other hand, Christians are quick to make pronouncements about the moral shortcomings of non-Christians, and often pick and choose which vices to most loudly denounce.  We have a much harder time with our sons (or brothers, or neighbours, or celebrities) who are gay than we do with our sons (or etc.) who are heterosexually immoral.

Quote1 Corinthians 5:12-13 (English Standard Version):
For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Is it not those inside the church whom you are to judge? God judges those outside. "Purge the evil person from among you."

I for one am a fan of the show and all the Robertson family, I also have a gay child, I support my child's right to live and love how she chooses as much as I support Anyone's right to believe and speak on those beliefs however the choose. What I can not support is the spreading of hate in any form! I consider myself Christian, God fearing, but by no means perfect!!!and I do not believe that anyone else in this world is any better than me or my child, therefor why should Phil Robertsons beliefs or anyone else's directly effect me or mine? They simply don't!!! I believe both sides of this are just as wrong as the other, by blowing this into something it shouldn't have been, and the only outcome can be more hate, I have told my daughter that not everyone is going to agree with her choices and not everyone will be accepting, It is up to her to choose who matters and live a life full of Love not hate. For Jesus taught love, and through love and love alone can you win. Not one soul has ever entered the gates of heaven that is full of hate for another man, you are not to partake in communion with hate in your heart

So...the old man was being interviewed by G.Q.  That might say something all by itself.  Methinks he doth protest too much..... just sayin.

They are stored in the same vault that Harry Reid has his evidence that Romney lied and cheated on his taxes!

He has videos showing him saying EXACTLY the same thing.  He is consistant.  More than I can say of our Presbo.

Both made up.

In announcing the indefinite suspension, A&E said it is "extremely disappointed" in Robertson's comments, "which are based on his personal beliefs" and "in no way reflect those of A&E Networks, who have always been strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community."

So...A&E does not champion or support the heterosexual community? Why are they discriminating against the heterosexual community? What is this madness?
