I got no problem if folks want to do this stuff out in the country with no one else around. Except with similar minded friends perhaps.

But to do this in traffic like this. No one signed up to be a part of his stupidity that day. His stunt might get him killed if he is lucky. His stunt might wind up causing someone else to be killed and have to live with that for the rest of his life if he's not.

You MAY not like my answer but here goes. A LOT of us were young and bullet proof once upon a time. When I moto crossed and road raced it was A T G A T T. When I got back CONUS I got stoopid.  RIDE SAFE.

I agree, saves on chlorine.

I sure would be pissed if I was on one of my 1000 mile trips and the freeway gets shut down for hours to investigate not-so-superman's accident.

I would not choose to do what the rider is doing.

That said, most of what's been posted here is pure bullshit.  I don't think any of us can either determine someone's intellectual magnitude from a single picture, nor can we predict that every one of, most of, or even a lot of the riders who do such a thing do or will die as a result.

A lot of us need to remove our self justification apparel and don our more effective thinking caps before we choose to communicate.
