Just a crazy thought but could you seal it good and hit it with a blast of compressed air? Maybe that would pop it back out.

That is actually the worse thing to do to a motorcycle gas tank.

It will open up like an oyster.

Be totally unusable.

My IS tank was badly dented in the deer incident.  I had a body shop fix it.  They did a great job, that was 13 years ago and you still can't tell it was ever damaged.  They even matched "Honda black" which has a bit of red in it.  I never would have known.  Cost me $500 but it was worth it.  IS tanks at that time were priced by Honda around $1800 and unobtainable.  I can provide the name of the body shop if you want to ship it to them.  In Denver.

Thankfully I was able to pull the dent with an upgraded version of Daniel's Hot glue and a stick method.  I did the carriage bolt and JB Weld with a slide hammer trick.  Skim coated the dent with some glazing putty and sanded it to match.  Once its repainted you'll never find it.

While you could certainly do that,, it is not hard to do and it leaves a nice workable surface,,, there are about a hundred good reasons why it is not done anymore.
The most expensive things you will purchase, are those things you would not have needed if you had listened and obeyed.
