Besides all the BS going on about this bike. I saw this bike a few times and it's one of those's Valk's that you will notice. It just looks better that most. If I was looking for one I would pay the dealer. Just try and make a $6000 bike look Dave's and you will be close to $10,000 and also have  more miles. And I bet the paint on his bike is mint.

I guess after all the Al bashing, nobody read this.

Sorry Dave if I offended you, I thought we were all Big Boys here, you may be, but one is not. :cooldude:

No I am not drinking, Thanks to God and my wife and my Dad, and did I mention God.

Run his bike through a rain storm, and another with 100,000 miles and they would look

just alike. Would they not.

Low miles, good paint, extras, it all adds up to a little more than stock, 6,000 NADA is all it's worth

and if the dealer paid retail on it, they won't be in business long. Get Real.

Al, have you suffered a relapse?  I and others pray not. Be kind.

As you continue to talk down the bikes value and the dealers business acumen. Sorry, that hollow statement doesn't mean squat.

Congratulations for single handedly taking an upbeat thread and turning it into one full of bitterness and arrogance. I have done my best to hold back my feelings regarding you and your attitude and your relentless hijacking of this thread for you to thump your chest and tell us all how clever you are and how stupid the dealer is. It is keyboard commandos like yourself that devalue message boards and run good people off. If you want to continue with all your comments please start your own thread.

Open for Comment, are we supposed to oooooh and aaaaaaaaaaaah at every thing that is said here.

I have not noticed that happening ever.

Harley Riders are called sheep, maybe that is what is expected from Valk Riders.

I told you I was sorry. If you take poison hoping the other fellow will die. So be it.

Ne evil intent was ever meant or mentioned.

9 months and counting. I intentionally rode with non-drinkers for that reason.

Partied with some that were and I drank diet coke and water.

I am sick of drinking. That is my motivation, and my wife said If I start back, drinking, my wife

has threatened to get another credit card. Yikes.

Yah when you share you weaknesses in public, it always is attacked again and again.

10g's is pushing it in any market.  I bet if someone came along and offered 8800 cash, dealer would take it since personally I wouldn't pay over 8500.

Asking price is just that - only asking to see if they can get that much for it.

In reality, bling is not worth 1/2 of what it costs, but for sure more than 10 cents on the dollar.  If someone loves all that bling,  someone might pay over 9 grand for it, thus the asking price of 10g.

You are living in Reality. I have been told by stealers that is what they pay for bling. Not my

estimation theirs. A offer is always welcome. By any business. I think I will make one today.

On that one in the Picture. T-Bird said it is a very nice bike, and that is all I need to hear.

See you on Dave's old Bike soon.

It sure is a clean looking bike, but I'm all hung up on the math.  If 10% of what the dealer gave you is $1100, that means the dealer gave you more than what he is asking for it.  I'm getting a headache trying to figure this out! :D :2funny: :D

Don't forget, the price he got for the trade was off of the price of a new bike.  The markup on these things is MORE THAN THE MARKUP ON MOST CARS.  Yes, that's correct.  On most cars, there is less than 5% between MSRP and dealer cost (on average).  On bikes, it's much higher.  I bought an 1100 Ace a while back and without a trade, I got $1,500 off of a $8,900 bike.  I paid $11,000 for my 2003 Valkyrie with a list price of $13,2000.

On a $20,000 bike like the F6B, the dealer could offer $10,000 for the trade, but there's a $4,000 markup from cost to MSRP, so he's really only offering $6,000 for the bike and cutting into his profit in hopes of getting the bike back for service or parts or bling.

The factory could also be giving the dealers insane incentives just to get these out on the road and in the public eye.  Without a doubt, seems like a great time to make the move if you are so inclined.

Dave,  I appreciate you starting this thread. I am not currently in the Market but I have noticed a few who are. It is always nice to get some insight into a bike rather than go find one thru other means and wonder how it was taken care off and so on. I am one Member who really appreciates the brotherhood on this board.

fudgie

Yrs ago I looked up a my buddies FXST and compared the blue book to the dealer price.

KBB- $5,600
HD dealer-$12,500

Talk about mark up!  :o And we compared his to mine and even tho his was 2 yrs newer my KBB was higher then his.

That I/S will sell and I bet they will get that or very close in price.  :cooldude:

I called them and offered $8,000 cash, and they flat turned it down.

Told them if they decide they will take that for it, no trade, to call me.

No pony up no more $$$$$.

I've got too damn many bikes now and can only ride about 1/2 of them.    Mostly  due to my age.

...I'm just glad this thread was only about a used Interstate being available, and not something really crazy like car tire/motorcycle tire, which oil to use, or politics and religion or something!  :-X
