Saw this on Facebook this morning with a post from Killboy.  We'll see if the trucks stay off or if the truckers will keep on following their GPS across The Dragon  Undecided

As an ex trucker and having ridden the Dragon-bout time the kept them off. Too cursed many new drivers are nuttin but steering wheel holders. 53' trailers and 240" tractors-wheel base-have no place on that particular stretch of highway. Do NOT know if restricting semis will keep the M/Cs from having wrecks but it's a start. RIDE SAFE.

One dragon on the tail of another.

I rode the Dragon in July of 2012.  There, I witnessed a TN State Trooper turning a tractor and flat bed trailer around at the North end turnout.  I made sure I thanked him as I started to head South again.
I've only seen videos of semi's on the Tail.  This change has been a long time coming...    cooldude

Yeah, I know what ya mean, but every little bit helps. If they'll post it restricted like on the Nc. side then there's plenty of room down along Chilhowee Lake to turn around.
Hope they post it everywhere! Hate to see 'em makin' money off the truckers same as the bikers.
This does mean patrols will prob increase, at least till the new wears off.

I've crossed The Dragon in a 22 and 26 wheeler more times than I can count but always with front and rear escorts . The GPS is mostly the cause of truckers crossing The Dragon.
( We have powerlines that cross The Dragon along with Fontana Dam that is also operated by the company I work for . )
