Many here will remember my youngest son Andy and his wife Autumn. Autumn recently had surgery and is still feeling pretty bad so the family has been doing what they can to make life easier for her. They live at the back of ten acres of woods, really no yard, the woods just comes up to their deck and that's how they like it.

Andy had done the grocery shopping at a super Walmart about 20 miles from home before stopping to pickup my daughter's boys Mason and KC. They are 17 & 15 and are staying with Autumn so Andy can go to work.

As he was walking out to his car he saw something under a vehicle and upon investigation he realized it was a really large black snake. Andy likes having snakes around his place so he decided to take this one home and turn it loose. He emptied out a Walmart bag and went back for the snake. By the time he got it in the bag it was cursed unhappy. He threw the bag in the passenger floorboard and headed to pickup Mason & KC.

As they left the driveway Mason noticed the sack and asked what was in it. With a smile Andy said "something I picked up at Walmart". Mason grabbed the sack, dropped it in his lap and leaned his face over to look into the bag. Andy said Mason jerked his head back, sat there for moment and put the bag back in the floorboard without saying much. As a PoDunk Grandpa I've got to say, the whole thing makes me proud!  Grin Grin

As two of the youngest grandkids, cousin Eddy and I were assigned the task of catching a small snake to put in the corn crib during the fall harvest. In the spring it was our job to remove that snake and clean the corn crib. It was amazing that a small corn snake in the fall could turn into a six foot long Indigo Snake that had no intention of leaving it's happy feeding grounds in the Spring.  Roll Eyes
