Me - it was the fork lock. Guess it is a good thing for my pea brain the new Valk has the fork lock on top with the ignition |

She made the cut years ago  And I've "lost" my key in both the seat release and fork lock. Once I thought I must have locked my keys in the trunk and had my wife drive 10 miles to bring my extra key. Only to find it wasn't in there and was in the fork lock. It's hell getting old.  |

Yeah, I forgot it there for more than 200,000 miles. It's where I keep my spare. I also use it to open fuel tank while the ignition key stays in the ignition. But otherwise, its always there...  |

I was meeting up with riders at the local watering hole one time. There was a guy on a new H.D. Well his bike would start if you had the key close like in your pocket. Yes I bet you already guessed. His key was on the work bench at home. After he stopped that was it. He had to go home to retrieve the key.

I received an S65 for my13th birthday. I had to split the engine in half at least twice to replace transmission gears. I had two additional bikes I had purchased for spare parts.
In any event, when I was 18 or 19, did some engine work and the bike would not start. No spark. I rolled the bike over the hill and pushed it back up the hill more times than I could count (the battery had been dead for years, and the kick starter had been removed for better footpegs). Replaced all the electrical components I could find with replacements from the parts bikes, with no success. Finally, in exasperation, I took the bike to a repair shop.
A couple of days later while at work, I happened to look at the key ring in my pocket and noticed a motorcycle key. I had been trying to start the bike for a week with no key in the ignition. Stopped at the shop on the way home (the shop had not had a chance to look at the bike yet) and it started right up.
DOH!

I see no stinking Fridge just some very nice junk in that trunk, very nice booty. I have not left keys in seat release, but have left my key in the ignition a few times and once when going into Menards coming out I looked for like 15 minutes all over wondering where my key is about ready to call home to bring me the other key. Thank god I got my althzeimers done with since was in the ignition - dah!!!! I think we all have misplaced an item we use often and need it and some several months later, it appears magically right in front of us right where we forget we left it.  |

On the other hand, some things seem to come with youth.  I've forgotten my key in the seat release too. I would never have forgotten leaving my key in her seat release. |
