I noticed the two debates were run completely different. But, what else could be expected from CNN.

Surprisingly hillary done did the best from what I heard. Thats not saying much though.

sanders is an absolute fool. His 'freebies' will cost $18 trillion.
I don't think CNN ran the debates all that much differently. But having 11 people with one of them being the Donald was going to make for completely different debates. Kind of like comparing watching "The Kardashians" to watching "Frontline"  coolsmiley

They were run verrrrry differently.  The R debate was "This one said this about you, what do you want to say about that?"  "This one said this, do you want to tell her/him something about it?"

I would imagine if the Democratic nominees had been calling each other stupid, ugly, low energy, etc. those same questions would have been asked.  Wink

Even more corps will be leaving, socialist Ireland is now trying to lower its tax rate to 6.25% to attract business.

Ubber Liberal New York State has been running a program that offers 10 years tax free if you open a company in certain areas.

So which is it???  Are low taxes or high taxes on business the way to go?

I would think that if the goal is a vibrant business climate, strong economic growth and plentiful employment opportunities, the lowest tax plan would be the choice.

I would think that a community with a high business tax plan would be a major disincentive to new and fledgling businesses and even drive existing business elsewhere.

You would think, hunh?  1/2 the country is being made to believe the opposite.   uglystupid2

I agree.  But they were very soft on their answers.  No real follow-ups, no records gone after, by CNN I mean, not each other.

Prince Andrew's new business tax program [ Start-Up NY] is a joke. If I can remember the numbers correctly this program has cost $320,000,000.00.  Thats $320 million tax payer dollars. How many jobs have been created ?  57 new jobs !  What a deal !  The few companies that have used this program have brought in their own employees from other areas.
The business doesn't pay taxes or utilities for 10 years. The employees pay lower taxes than normal or in some cases no taxes.
So, guess who makes up that difference. Yep, the taxpayers.
Cuomo is ruining this state just as he did when he was head of HUD.

There was not much difference the 2 CNN debates ?!  What !

The democrat debaters didn't get a single professional pitch. They didn't even get a JV pitch. They barely got any T-ball pitches. That debate was a joke.  Not a single question about foreign policy.

OH ya, there was a question about the most dangerous foreign issue. Of course, that happens to be climate change. Really, the most dangerous and imminent threat is climate change.  Because democrats suck on foreign policy they get to change the subject and pull the wool over the audience eyes with this climate change crap. And Cooper never stopped their spin and resultant bravo sierra.

That moron sanders gave the debate to clinton. He handed it to her on a silver platter.  What an incompetent fool he is, him and his $18 trillion dollar 'free' programs and statement that climate change being the greatest danger to this country.

And the goof that isn't even in the race was given a podium, just in case he showed up. And, he has great poll ratings ! Shouldn't you have to be in the race to warrant a rating. Our lame-stream media is disgraceful.

IMHO Sanders is just there to fire up the extreme FSA base that seems to have taken over the Democrat party, and to make Hillary look almost reasonable in comparison.

His job is to get the extreme moon bats that wouldn't vote for Hillary on their own fired up and excited, and then hand off his supporters to Hillary when it comes his time to back out.

What he's been promised in return for this quid pro quo who knows.

But that's just my opinion

Well, that could very well be true.

I kinda think he is so arrogant and incompetent that he actually thinks he can win and turn us into a socialist utopia.

Well it's good to hear my blistering humor works on on least one person in the Internet world.  Grin I've been following politics since I was a kid delivering papers in the morning. My take on Trump - Perot 2.0...

Dunno if it's a planned scheme or if it'll just happen but get the Republicans distracted, some excited, burn out, drop out, and we get Monica Lewinsky's ex boyfriend's wife as president.

Honestly hope I'm wrong, but guess we'll find out in the next year or so.

You know I've thought of that comparison also. But Trump is really a different situation. He can say or do ANYTHING and doesn't matter. If anything he gains ! Perot never had anything CLOSE to that.

Oh how I love this thread!  Seeing all the old angry white guys getting ruffled feathers, and wallowing in disgust and contempt as they watch our future president debate on CNN just tickles me.  You have been reading your batshit crazy right wing conspiracy websites, and listening to Hannity, Rush, and other shills blather on AM radio, and it has you practically frothing at the mouth in anger.  2funny

Let me share a few things with you.  Pretty much no one of any import gives a lick about whether or not there was any motive behind saying Benghazi was because of anger over a video, or because it was a planned strategic strike by islamic militants.  Really, it is inconsequential.  What was obvious to most has already been said on national tv by the house majority leader, by a whistleblowing republican investigator, and now by another senator.  The investigation was nothing but a purely political partisan hit job with the sole intention of bringing down Hillary's poll numbers.  Oh what fun it is to see it backfiring!  Republican careers crumbling daily!  To see the majority leader goaded into the faux pas by republican shill Hannity makes it all the sweeter,  Smiley

No one of any import gives a lick about Hillary's legal use of a private server for emails.  The investigation is another thinly veiled political hit job that is doomed to fail.  The republican party is grasping at straws in their desperation, and they are coming up empty.  The republican party is in a death spiral, and has already lost any chance of regaining the white house.  You think to yourself, but republicans control the legislature.  I wouldn't be surprised if they lose the senate come next election.  The house will be tougher to lose because of all the gerrymandering.  The politicians choosing their districts instead of districts choosing their politicians.  In any case the next democratic president will be insuring that the supreme court will have a progressive majority, and that will have the most lasting effect on our country.

As far as the debates went, they were vastly different.  The differences were mainly due to ideology and strategy of the two parties.  The republicans don't have any real solutions, and so they spout the same old stuff.  According to the candidates everything will be better if they could build a wall between the US and Mexico.  A tall wall, a thick wall, a double wall, an electrified wall, any kind of wall to keep out the brown people (that are mostly bad).  They also think that if they see a company making billions and billions of profit yet not hiring more workers, it is because of taxes rather than greed and actual lack of needing more workers.  You see, the real reason to hire more workers is to produce more product and service to sell.  If there aren't more customers to buy the product or service, there is no impetus to hire more workers to help facilitate that.  Simply cutting taxes further, so that the corporations can stack additional billions on top of the billions they profit does not equal jobs, and it never has.  This is what is meant by the saying Trickle Down Economics does not work.  If workers were paid a higher wage, they could spend more, which would create more demand for products and services.  This is what is needed to create more jobs.  Raising wages does not mean higher prices for consumers.  If McDonalds paid their workers $15 an hour (about double what they make now), they could not double the prices on their menu, because of competitor's prices, and consumers would just not buy the food.  They would make less profit on one hand because of paying higher wages, but they would make more profit on the other hand by having employees that have money to spend on their product (and employees of other companies that have their wages raised spending money at McD).  Costco is able to pay their employees fair living wages and still be very successful selling their products at great prices.

There is a void of leadership and ideas in the republican party, so there are many candidates all trying to outdo each other.  My wall will be bigger than your wall etc.  They bash each other while doing battle, all trying to be king of the hill.  The problem is the hill is a small one, as a majority of the country do not agree with the ideology of the right.  In the race to the top of the small hill the republican candidates make themselves less and less electable in the general election.

In the democratic party, there is clear leadership, and agreement on virtually all policy matters.  They are not on stage to bash each other, they know that it is of utmost importance that one of them reaches the top of the big hill, so they are supportive of each other.  You look at Bernie Sanders and think he made a mistake supporting Hillary, but it was brilliant.  You see Bernie has great ideas, but even he never thought he had a chance to become president.  His main goal was to push forward his ideas about reining in corporate greed and influence in politics, and thus evening the playing field for the middle class.  He wants those tenets to be a larger part of the platform.  He has been a bit surprised and encouraged by the reception he has received on a grass roots level by the left, and he will not use his influence to destroy the party's chances of winning the white house.

I know you think Obama is horrible, and is driving the country into the ground, because that is what you have been told by republican/corporate shills.  They have convinced you to vote against your own best interest, and to hold corporate interest at the forefront.  The truth of the matter is, by every measurable our country is thriving.  When Obama took over from Bush we were losing 800,000 jobs a month!  Think about that.  Holy crap!  We have now added jobs every month since early in Obama's presidency.  Unemployment was at 10%  Holy crap!  Now it almost 5%  Don't give me BS about those aren't real numbers, the same metrics are being used as always.  Yeah boomers are retiring, and yes there are infants and children that don't work, but we have seen unprecedented growth in the job market.  My wife is a hiring manager at a biotech company, and they have been holding interviews and hiring thousands of people every year.  In my own neighborhood I have seen many new businesses open, and thrive!  My home value has skyrocketed, and so has my 401K.

The democratic party wants to focus on protecting our planet, and moving towards leading the world in sustainable energy.  They want us to invest in new roads and bridges, education and health care for all.  They want to stop the redistribution of wealth to the top, and to reduce corporate influence on elections.

Unless you are a hedge fund manager with no bounds to your greed, unless you care nothing for our planet or your fellow man, I can see no reason why you would ever vote republican.

P.S. you know you missed me  Wink

Yeah baby !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You've just put into text, every single point that I've wanted to make, but just didn't make the time to do. I couldn't have said it better, no way, no how.

I'll never understand how people can be so full of venom for someone that it makes them embrace the ones that will do them harm. The R's don't give a fig about anyone that doesn't have a seven figure income. As near as I can tell, there aren't too many here that would fit that category. And you guys will fight to the death to vote them into office.

Seriously, when was the last time a Republican introduced a piece of legislation that would benefit the working man? A jobs bill, a tax break for us, an education bill?Huh? It's easy, there has been NONE, NOTHING. All they do is float bullshit efforts to outlaw abortion, defund Planned Parenthood, launch the sham witch hunts that do nothing but distract and divide. Now that Benghazi has been proven to be the biggest BS sham that any thinking person already knew it to be, what's the next rallying cry?

Now they're ramping up to shut down the government AGAIN !!!!!!  All over Planned Parenthood !

Sen Lindsay Graham wants to cut SS and Medicare benefits.  Most of us on this board are either of that age or damn close to it that these cuts will DIRECTLY affect! And STILL, you fight to vote for them. I just don't get it.

In order to be a liberal/progressive one must be able to deny reality, otherwise non of the arguments work.
As proof see some prior postings on this thread.

I know I just wasted 15 seconds of my time pointing that out (again).

So be it I am out of here

Yeah, yeah, rose colored glasses and kool-aid right.  The thing is, everything I stated was fact, not opinion.  Home values and 401k's up.  Unemployment down.  Plans for energy independence, education, health care.

Please tell me some of the plans republicans offer besides keep out the brown people, tax cuts for the wealthiest, defunding women's health, cutting social security for the old and food for the young.  In fact, they would love to cut every social program and just shovel the money to billionaires.

Conservatives think the government is evil.  Except for the police department, fire department, prison system, military, coast guard, water treatment, CDC, USDA, VA, FDA, FAA, NSA...and on and on and on.  They think the government just needs to stay out of our lives, except they feel it is the government's role to interject christianity into everyone's life.  They want the government to decide what a woman should do with her body.  They want the government to decide who can marry who.

Maybe you're a "fiscal" conservative that doesn't agree with the social policies of the party.  Has there been a republican president since 1950 that has had a balanced budget?  Reagan TRIPLED our deficit, TRIPLED it!  Bush had our deficit at 1.4 TRILLION dollars a year (down to just over 400 billion under Obama), but there was nary a peep from the right.  Republicans spend like drunken sailors on their first shore leave in a long time, except they put it on our national credit card.  Spend and borrow, spend and borrow, over and over and over.  Then they bitch when the bill comes due, and threaten to not pay the bill.  This hurts our credit rating, but they don't care.

You think I'm spouting BS, and have no clue about reality huh?  Then prove me wrong.

IMHO, here's my summation.

The Democrats lie outrageously, are determined to destroy our Republic AND financial status, and the liberal media doesn't put their arse to the fire for it.

The majority of Republicans don't want to disturb the status quo, are chicken s***,  they use their energy to tear each other down when they hear truths uttered, unfortunately,  by a Clown, and completely ignore one candidate who IS truthful, because they don't want to change or let the 'liberal' press tear them apart.

At this point, neither party is fit to run this country.

To keep my bp low, i will completely ignore the comments by one who resides in a state, a state that illustrates the very worst of how government should run.  Too bad, that the politicians of that state don't match the grandeur of it.   Sorta like the most beautiful building in the world with a foundation made of sand.

I was referring to the republicans in congress.  They do borrow and spend, they are not thrifty, and so we all owe.  That is not a bigoted statement.  The democrats in congress also are for spending, except they have ways to pay for it instead of borrowing.  The republicans in congress are fully owned by those who do not currently, but would have to pay their fair share, so they always vote to borrow instead.  If they voted to make the ultra wealthy and multinational corporations pay at the same rates you and I do, they would lose a lot of their personal money in the form of taxes paid and contributions lost.

I do not think that you referred to republicans in congress until your last post. Before that you said "republicans"  period which includes a lot of people whom do not fit your description, so  yes that is a bigoted statement, and in general you show a great distaste for "republicans" and it shows in your dialogue.

Yep!  He also shows great distaste for others in our club.  And yes, he receives it back in response or reflex.

Amazing....You really don't get it do you!!
She lied to the American people - THAT - is what the issue is. Pretty much every thinking person already knew the video claim was BS. Excuse me....maybe you really believed in the video.

Actually, I didn't note when the particular reply was posted.  The thread reappeared and I read through the last page and replied to something I hadn't read before.  But even though it's a month old, I still agree with it and stand by my addition to the thread.

Like you, I call it like I see it.

I put an updated reply to this thread regarding the Democrat Party debates.

Would some have rather I started a new thread thereby adding to the argument that there are too many non Valkyrie threads on this General Board?
