He learns new things, new to him anyway, because he is still young. Once a conservative reaches 40, they never learn anything new EVER. That's the textbook definition of "conservative"
]con·ser·va·tive \kən-ˈsər-və-tiv\ adjective
: believing in the value of established and traditional practices in politics and society : relating to or supporting political conservatism
Conservative : of or relating to the conservative party in countries like the United Kingdom and Canada
: not liking or accepting changes or new ideas
You may also call that "The Practically Prefect In Every Way" syndrome, or simply the "Mary Poppins" delusion. "I'm never wrong, in case of error see rule (1)". They watched too much Archie Bunker.

You're dead wrong to say conservatives dont like change or new ideas. We just don't like change or ideas which are ill conceived or those simply made for the purpose of driving some ridiculous agenda

I know you people are not stupid, even a 5th grader can see that this is all scripted or premeditated. The kid is too confident, and the framing is to perfect, is it possible, it could be for real, “Yes it is”, but very unlikely to be sincere. I hate when they use Children, Vets and our loving pets to manipulate our emotions.
People always shot their mouth off, about how this should be, and how that is wrong, if they are such experts, why is everything so screwed up still. I guess finger pointing just doesn't get the job done. How many people have expressed it to their Senators and Representatives?

I think the main point is that even a 5th grader can understand that it is wrong to steal other people's money to give out a bunch of free stuff that is not necessary, deserved nor appreciated. Maybe we shouldn't let people vote that have no job or pay anything into the system whatsoever. That way the candidate won't feel pressure to give more free stuff to people who cannot vote for them anyway.

One very basic problem with the definitions given; you NEVER use the defined term or ANY variation of it, to define it. Other than that, the "over 40" thing it total rubbish and can apply to either of the main parties in gov't.

You are correct. Diatribe was an inaccurate description. What I was trying to point out was : this was a kid that was just performing as he was told to by someone else.

Ok time in. Dan I'm not arguing the positions. I'm arguing that its highly doubtful that a 9 year old kid "learned" this. Seems pretty apparent that it was a performance set up by someone else. Granted it makes the presentation cuter. If it was the kids parent on video saying it , would anybody give it a second thought ?

Because everyone is supposed to capitulate to their agenda. Riiiiight..... Amazing that while conservative complain about "Big Government", and excessive spending, we always see a particular pattern. They just passed an $80 billion budget extension deal...that gives $40 billion, 1/2 of all that money, to increased defense spending. And that's NOT including an additional $32 billion for the "Overseas Contingency Operations (OCO) fund", which thanks to a bit of slight-of-hand isn't required to show up on that budget at all! And then they complain about Social Security, but the increases for SS passed here are simply robbing Peter to pay Paul: the SS "increases" are loans and taking money out of the main SS account for the payment. In the meantime, while still yelling about the evils of Big Government, the conservative agenda includes social causes - such as support of anti-gay, abortion and several others - where they want to pass / keep / reinstate laws that tell consenting adults what they can and can't do with their own bodies, such as who they can't have a relationship with or how they must abide by certain medical procedures when visiting their own doctor. Too far to the left and you get crazy, but too far to the right you get nuts - but they never acknowledge their own brand of psychotic.

Now again this is based on my observation and is not gospel, OK. The thing with the 5th grader is fake, it is coached, and it is a cute deception. I agree the kid has the gift of gab, but what I see is a kid acting, that’s all. Now if you watch TV, my question is, do you believe what you watch, do you think it is real and honest. Guess what, it is not, it is scripted, it is coached, it is shaped like a piece of clay to get you to believe it. It is to make you feel bad, it is to make you angry, it is to make you feel guilty, it is to get you to reach into your wallet and make them wealthy. Sound crazy doesn’t it, but it is true, and this 5th grader isn’t any different. The one thing that boils my blood is they use children to sell products, and to use them in fund raising to influence adults. When a parent puts their child in a beauty pageant, I just want to hit them with a shovel. They also use our Vets and our loving pets to manipulate our decisions. And it works the same way concerning our politics. Like they say”If it looks too good to be true, it’s generally not true”.

What a "load". It probably is scripted, but it's dead on the money (pun intended). It's still wrong to steal taxpayer money and waste it for political gain! Surely you don't mean to say that isint happening

Surely you don't mean to say that isint happening Hey!! I agree with you, YES it is happening!! The thing is people have to focus on the issue, and not be distracted by parlor tricks. To me I see a parlor trick, emphasis is on the kid and not the problem, is the way I see it. Don't think in terms of what you see, but think in term of what the public sees as a whole. Now, I am not a sports guy, but I noticed something in the last year or two on TV. I know it makes the sports enthusiast happy, but it strikes me as odd, may be I am over thinking it, may be not. But TV sports has flooded the networks, they are on Thurs., Fri., Sat., and Sun, and it dominates the TV. Now is it just marketing or is it distractions, misdirection for something else. I live in Metro Detroit area, and on Detroit TV the ads are one after another, for lawyers to sue who ever you want. The other commercials to donate to something, which pocket get lined, check that out at News at 11 o'clock. Now every retailer made a mistake on their stock and now must have a sale to liquidate, now this crap floods and dominates the TV. Now do you think this distractions has no influence on the adult viewer decisions. If it didn't have a major influence on people, why are we getting nickel and dimed to death. Just because you pay attention, doesn't mean others do! Or am I over thinking it again!!!

Now I can agree with this one. What if a person pays into the system for 20 years and then due to their job going to India they find themself unemployed and making that weekly phone call for that $420 week and it happens to be during the time of an election? Should this person not be able to vote?

I think Sheldon Cooper is a flaming idiot, its not walking around with a high IQ, thinking you are better than everyone, and always bringing ones faults to their attention. Just because a person only has an QI of only 150, doesn't mean they are stupid. Good productive intelligent is, when you take what you have, an utilize it to the max. in a productive way. Some of the most productive and creative people in our history just were average people. Although now in todays standards, people think that if some goes to the bathroom and doesn't wiz on their hand, they must be a genius. Anyways genius is basically one short step from being a total whack job. Again, just my observation!!

Is that Sheldon Coopers love child?
Breath in. Breath out. Repeat. Calm grasshopper Britman It's cool, he is talking about a reflected number, QI and 150. When corrected it is IQ and 051, liberal level. Gil

Maybe we shouldn't let people vote that have no job or pay anything into the system whatsoever. That way the candidate won't feel pressure to give more free stuff to people who cannot vote for them anyway.
Will those folks also be exempted from any future military draft? Once you start setting criteria for voting (other than being an adult citizen) eventually some group is going to shift that line even further and you may find yourself excluded if you don't make enough money or own enough property to make the new cutoff.(or if you didn't attain a high enough education or if your IQ doesn't exceed a certain level or if you haven't produced any children etc) We all get to vote because the decisions being made effect all of us.
