The press very seldom impresses me with its assessments. It does happen from time to time.
If Carson is a nut job I'd say we as a country are way overdue for such a nut job to take the helm as opposed to the well presented but shallow and misdirected persons who have all too often had a hand on the tiller.

I guess we could stay status quo and continuing flushing the country down the crapper. I think Carson brings a common sense approach without respect to the file and rank. A good thing. Where was it written that someone to serve their country they needed x amount of years in a corrupt organization such as the US Govt?

West Point does not have a medical school. No service academy does. The military gets all it's drs, dentists, lawyers and chaplains privately trained and licensed.

I just seen them talking to him on Fox2 News, I caught the end of the discussion. But they mentioned in his book,(correct me if I am wrong) something about him going to WestPoint. And in his early days the stabbed some person, and turn out to be a family member, OK On both points, they said he lied and admitted to it. He never even applied to WestPoint, and he said the person he stabbed was someone out side the family. SO it all starts out as lies!! What is wrong with people, do they wake up with a new mind every morning. Don't they understand people, and the opposition will dig up the facts. Again!! Chaplains - yes - they get recruited and go through Officer Indoctrination course (in the Navy it was at Newport RI). Doctors - Couple different programs - 1 - the military provides scholarships for medical school training in return for x number of years of commitment - similar to ROTC. 2 - Direct recruitment (like chaplains) 3 - There WAS an Armed Forces medical school - the students are Ensigns / 2nd LT's while they are in Med school, promoted to O-3's upon completion. I don't know if it is still around. Nurses and other medical support - I think most of them are direct recruitment. Point of fact - there was a severe shortage of Nurses - to the point that they would gladly keep Nurses who had failed to select for promotion. |
