The joys of owning a 16 year old bike.

So I'm out on a PGR Mission last week and kept finding loose spots in the road when I made a right turn....
Or so I thought. This is what I found when I was checking the air pressure in the Darkside...

Broken O-rings in the final drive ?
BigMac (SoCal):
I have seen this on my bike after I due a tire change and service the final drive. It's usually because I put a little more grease on the flange than it needs so when it heats up some of the excess fly's off. After a few miles it stops for me. There is a pretty big seal that can leak but can be replaced pretty easily though. Remember we are all riding vintage bikes now but lets keep them on the road.

Something else to check might be leaking shocks. I had leaking progressives on my interstate that would leave that on the wheel.
Big Tom 10628:
Not excess grease the tire has over 14,000 miles on it..
Progressives are not leaking.
I'm leaning towards the seals. It will go to Big BF as soon as he has an opening..
