OK, I am going to try and diffuse this thread a little, then I am done with it.

I did make that statement and I should have read it before posting it, It should have said was that MOST people get their idea of police work from TV and the movies. I was not trying to single out Britman, but rather answer the one question that many seemed to have. For that I am sorry. 

Yes, they can frisk and hold someone they are questioning, but only with cause to believe they are in danger if they don't. THEN, they have to be able to articulate why they did so, or again, the politically correct police will have their ass. WQhat would lead you to believe that the cop was in danger with the interaction in the restroom?

That situation in the beginning was no more than a speeding ticket, identify him, issue him a citation, tell him he was no longer allowed in the place of business, and release him, PERIOD.  You expect him to be frisked and cuffed?  Again, if it was to happen like you believe, there would be nothing but lawsuits.
That scenario is played out hundreds of times a day in a large city without injury or death to anyone.

As far as the other question being a YES or NO it is not that simple, if the rest of my post was read you will see that I did try to answer it, and again, it was meant for everyone, and no one in particular.

cops get REAL mad when you answer like that

for the record I think it was a clean shoot guy got what he deserved

HOWEVER he should of been checked right in the bathroom

then instead of bullets flying allover the place they would have been contained in the bathroom, mostly

Had the dumbass given any reason or indication he was going to be such a dumbass in the rest room, then the appropriate action would have been to do something about it there in the rest room.

But, he chose to cooperate and then go stupid outside in the parking lot where, I assume he thought he could run.   His mistake was to pull that gun.   Bad decision.    Play Stupid Games, Win Stupid Prizes!

Walk in the other guys shoes for a while and you might understand why he responds the way he responds.    Had a bad run in with a LEO?   I have, but I was able to defuse the situation by recognizing the situation for what it was and not pushing his buttons.    I don't mind pushing buttons when I need to and have enough sense to not push buttons when it's not worth it.

LEOs are human also, they serve and protect us but, they are not subordinate or subservient to us.   Treat them with the respect most deserve, you will be treated in the same manner.    There are always rogues, plan on meeting one and react accordingly.

This is very sad.  This guy, and that 12 year old kid lost their lives waving BB guns around.

BB guns can cause injury, though death or even major injury (other than blindness) is extremely rare.  The press has it wrong, though.  They keep saying that the orange tips are removed from pellet/BB guns.  Pellet and BB guns don't have orange tips, only toy guns have the orange tips.  Pellet and BB guns aren't toys.

I agree, they cuffed OJ outside his house when they first arrived, and he wasn't even a suspect at that time.

Think about that statement,
Murder suspect vs. shoplifting ?  In my mind they are quite different situations?

how the cops who shot the kid, killed him who was in the park with a toy gun? the dumb cops had the protection of the police car for a shield, but no they run towards the kid yelling the kid not understanding turns around they see GUN, and they fire away. just disgusting!!

Quite easy to second guess, I am going to go back to my other remark, being a cop today is not worth it due to that type of response or mindset.

OJ was not a murder suspect when they first came to the house after he called them to report his dead wife. u should watch the video and read the transcript.

no second guess, very easy to watch the video of the cops pulling up in their car. they get out and run towards the kid yelling with guns drawn. very stupid and makes them want to pull the trigger. Mr Orwell's police state is here.
these cops today need to go back and watch Adam-12 and Dragnet.

There is a different Breed of people in society today than there was in the Adam 12 and Dragnet Days.
Sounds like you don't care much for cops?
