Warmer today than yesterday by a bit-in fact some bank I passed "somewhere" was indicating 58 degrees F. Bright sunshiny cloudless day here. BUT-always a BUT-right? One of the letter roads-think county road-quite hilly and curvy B T W-had some left over grit/sand/stuff on the uphills downhills and curvy parts that Required ALL my Attention. And some of the intersections had "stuff" on the surface that is NOT conducive to good or even fair traction.  uglystupid2 And 117 miles later I are a MUCH happier camper-Again.  2funny This cool dry system we are still under here is VERY conducive to the Phatt Ghurls engine running EXTREMELY well.  Wink Go to pass someone on a 2 lane and it wuz a done deal rather quickly!  cooldude As nice as the weather is on my ride I only saw 2 other M/Cs and one of them was parked at Murphy while I was fueling-an older Honda twin of 400 C Cs. We were admiring each others ride!  Grin Sposed to stay NICE here til late Sunday evening. I see MORE riding in my future!  Roll Eyes But by next Wed-winter returns!  Lips Sealed   crazy2 RIDE SAFE.

I was surprised today when the Sun came out in force and about noon I opened the front door to be met by a warm southern wind.  It was mid 40s but felt warmer.  This past weekend I had went up to Cleveland to pick up what is in essence a baby Valkyrie.  A 2000 Honda Shadow Ace Tourer VT1100T.

Have not taken a pic yet but it is identical to this.

Took it for a shake down cruise to see what needed to be done as it has only had 300 miles put on it since 2008 and had been stored covered in a garage.  Good news is it ran great and all I need to do is complete fluid changes, even has new tires.  And for those who do not know which included me up to about 3 months ago those bags are standard and the exact same bags as our Valkyries and also made in Marysville.
My 97 valk tourer loves its new mate.

It hit 40 on Wednesday, I hit the road.  110 miles later felt a bit better.   It was a good second  ride of the year..  sure like the idea that Oregon doesn't use salt on the roads.   But they do put down rocks to help with the traction.  Have to watch them on the tight right had curves.

Since then it has rained, yeah most of the time in January we get white stuff falling from the sky.   We are in the middle of a January thaw.  It will be snowing by 1800 or so, so says the weather folks.
