Finished my chores around noon and after reading Joe's ride report I was jonesing for a ride and some texas BBQ

Called G-Man but he was at his son's basketball game and he couldnt ride

So I saddled up (mesh jacket) and headed out and down the big hill to ride along the Hudson   As the title says there were whitecaps and the breeze felt really good.

There was a state patrol car hiding in the woods going up the river but I saw the glint of sun off his car in plenty of time to slow down more than 1/2 mile from him, no speed appreciation award

Caught up to a group of noisy harleys and passed them before starting up the goat trail.  As you get near the top the wind becomes most bodacious and the smile grows wider.  No traffic on the goat trail outstanding dry pavement and no bike riders pedalling in the road   Dont get no better

Snap decision to take 9D north to Cold Spring and meandered down to the gazebo on the waterfront docks.  Took this pic of the small cannon

then hung out awhile to watch a freight train, only a hundred or so cars on the opposite bank chug upriver. I am a sucker for trains

My stomach grumbling led me out of my reverie and east I headed on 301 to 9 and south to the BBQ which I ordered to go and just finished

So my ride was great, no rain fell, the food was great and now I am going to walk some of the mashed potatoes off with the dog

catch you later

I'm right there with you Oss. With everything going on including getting the garden going, I found some time to do a solo ride today. In VA, our weather has been a lot like yours. This I know because each week I fly from National to Logan for work and I pay close attention to the weather between here and there. Today we had clear skies but heavy winds. Didn't make for a " fun " ride but at least I got out. I keep saying that one of these weeks I'm going to make the trip to Boston on the bike.

Thanks for sharing your picks and it was nice to see that you didn't let a little overcast keep you from getting out.

Maybe week after next???

This weekend is the Pow Wow and Sunday is probably the birthday BBQ for Eric.  I should be home by noon on Sunday if I leave for home early like I plan to.  Stop by if you're local.

OSS: Back when I was a teenager, we had a boat race above Nyack bridge. There were 6' white caps and we still raced. It was more a test of survival, not really a race by the time it was over.
