So many colors to choose from yet so few stand out

Covington, TN

« on: May 25, 2016, 10:01:39 AM »

Is there a shop or dealer that will mount a darkside tire in Morgantown.   Need to put on a new Austone Taxi Tire and having a hard time getting it scheduled locally.   Thought I might wait until I get there.

Have already sent BigBF and others email/PMs asking yesterday but, so far, no responses.   Sad

Takes some time to check with folks in Morgantown and get a definitive response.

I got your PM.  I didn't intend to respond until I had an answer one way or the other.  You didn't say whether you needed the shop to order the tire or whether you would provide it.

Has anyone ever told you that now and then you can be a pain in the ass?   Smiley

Will have the tire, the problem is, getting scheduled into the shop.

Asking if you knew information isn't quite the same as asking you to get the information but, I appreciate the thought and effort.   Sorry about that pain, I assure you,  it was not intentional.  Wink

I've known so many women in my life but I don't think your wife was one of them.    Wink

That will help to know.  The second shop that we talked to, independent, said he did until recently when Michelin sent him pictures and influencing data.  He's thinking about it right now and we'll get back with him.

The Honda shop said they do not.

Thanks.

Reference the wife, she doesn't like facial hair (especially mustaches) so, I think we're safe.   2funny

Did the second shop say what the influencing data was?

That ATT will go on without a machine.  2 spoons gets it on.  Sidewall is much more pliable that a bike tire.  I would think if you have the tech session folks demonstrate a tire change....you could get it done cheap....

Michelin supposedly sent him some reports of motorcycle accidents involving car tires.

Makes one wonder if there have been any motorcycle accidents involving motorcycle tires.

I have looked (not lately) and cannot find one

And the evidence we need is an accident solely attributable to a car tire...... not a car tire and: deer, speed, gravel, oil, light runners, texters, yada.  Just the tire.

I just looked again.  Plenty of talk about dealers worried about liability for installation.  Otherwise, nada, zip, nothing.

Since I am going to be trailering to and from Inzane, I could bring my redneck tire changer and tire bar.  If there is not someone already set up to change tires there and people are going to want to, then I will bring it.  Otherwise, I am not going to bother.

That was what Mama asked him.  He said he would think about it.   Smiley

That would be a good thing to do, Bigwolf.  To my knowledge none of the vendors on site will be prepared to do tire changes.

As they say in the movie, "Bring It".    Very willing and grateful for the offer.    cooldude
