one does not have to join to sign the petition.

Federal agency actions increase ethanol risk for motorcycles
 Sign the petition!

The Renewable Fuel Standard proposal announced May 18 by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency would increase the risk of misfueling for motorcyclists and all-terrain-vehicle owners by forcing the widespread availability of higher-ethanol fuel blends, such as unsafe E15.

Act now by signing the American Motorcyclist Association’s petition to voice your concern. The deadline is July 11.

The EPA's proposed Renewable Volume Obligations call for 18.8 billion gallons of biofuel for 2017, up 690 million gallons from this year. The obligations for 2015 were 16.93 gallons.

By increasing the amounts of ethanol into America’s gasoline marketplace, the EPA will exceed the blend wall by hundreds of millions of gallons! The blend wall is the point at which no more ethanol can be blended without forcing higher blends like E15 and above into the marketplace.

Doing so means ethanol blends of 15 percent or higher would become more prevalent and safe fuels like E10 or E0 could become harder to find.

In fact, the EPA’s RVO proposal intends the E10 blend wall, not as a barrier, but a “transition” with the goal to push higher ethanol levels into the market. The EPA plans on doing this by:

    Regulation
Subsidies for blender pumps   "our TAX DOLLARS"
Price subsidies to lower the cost per gallon for higher ethanol fuel; and

Talk about incompetence. Our very own government has said ethanol was a mistake and yet in typical fashion they now want to increase the amount. Follow the money and see where it leads.

actually part of the law bush signed after being pushed to do so by the democrap led senate and congress, mandates E20 and higher. I don't remember the actual final % been awhile since I read it.
got to make a reason for people to buy new vehicles to keep the auto manufacturers and their over paid union votes happy.

In truth, clunker laws are not about improving the quality of the air. They are about giving huge government subsidies to big industrial polluters—coal-burning utility companies mostly—in the guise of a "free-market" solution to air pollution.

As usual, the problem originates in Washington. Federal mandates stemming from the ill-conceived 1990 amendments to the Clean Air Act require states to meet an arbitrarily set air quality standard. Otherwise, they face losing funding for highway construction and maintenance.

The portion of the Act that specifically threatens old automobiles is the provision mandating reductions in mobile sources. That's bureaucratic cant for car and truck emissions at levels to be set by the Environmental Protection Agency in "non-attainment areas." Non-attainment areas are parts of the country—cities mostly—which do not meet the standards set forth in the act.

Since old cars, derisively referred to as clunkers, are highly visible and easily portrayed as mobile bilge barges, they are an attractive target for state governments seeking to find ways to meet the federal government's requirements.

The cash for clunkers program was an absolute incompetent joke. Millions of good auto parts were destroyed for no good reason.

Not to change the subject, well, yes, to change the subject. Just wait till everyone reads about the newly projected costs of health care, especially the hardest hit state of Ca.

Its no wonder that folks are walking around in a constant state of ticked-off-ness.
