Last night a Chicago community organizer said :-

"We need to abolish the police, period. Demilitarize the police, disarm the police, and we need to come up with community solutions for transformative justice." — Jessica Disu, community activist

She managed to keep a straight face as she spoke  Cheesy

It must never be forgotten that city/urban police make a large dent in criminal enterprise, and the criminals don't like it.  Seems likely that a large part of the hate-cops voice is from these individuals.

Reactive policing will only beget more shootings, more drug dealing, more assaults, more destructive behaviors in already besieged neighborhoods. But when everyone gets tired of the chaos and victimization they will be screaming about the lazy, do nothing police.

+1

Every year ~50 LEOS  are lost due to "homicides ", not to mention how many public first responders take fire when they arrive on the scene/enter the premises /approach the car, etc...

When only the bad or good-for-TV gets shown, I understand what you said about the switch to re-active responses, and most likely slow responses when they are needed most.

In local news.

Woman drives SUV with rear hatch open on the wrong side of the road in a construction zone.

Stopped by police she then tries to drive off. Stops again and is arrested for DUI.

Her attorney states on TV that she was afraid to stop in case she was assaulted, maimed or killed by the police.

She's American African and so is the attorney.

That didn't take long to manifest itself.
