I think that is true,in many cases.  Note that I mentioned the very same thing in my previous post.
My black friend said that he never saw discrimination (and he was from Selma)

Absolutely true, the Army was where I learned about all races and ethnic groups from all over the US.
Good times and some bad, except in Korea, there it was all good. The closeness to a combat zone made us get along, blacks and whites.



I don't remember when they stopped calling it Camp Pickett and started calling it Ft. Pickett.

Blackstone is still very small.
