Got my 97 Purple and white.  Rode into town, and met my daughters boyfriend in an empty parking lot.  He pulling up alongside me, on his Fatboy.  He looked over, and said "Wow.  That is a big bike".

I replied, "Maybe someday yours will grow up, and be big too"!
he paid you a compliment and you cut him down,,wonder what he thinks of you?

Seein' hows I have survived 65 years, and owning/ ridden I forget how many bikes, I just can't seem to

get excited about buying/ building any more bikes.

Once I got my '81 gl1100 running and rideable, I thought " man, if if you could ride butter, it would be a

gl1100!".      THEN,  I built my Valkyrie. FORGET THE GL1100!!!

  BUTTER HAS JUST BEEN RE-INVENTED!

And every time I want to do the Nickle trick, no one has one!

Is and has been a pleasure to ride this bike. No way could I afford to "buy" one all at once. Just got the

pieces and put it together.

Ride safe, y'all!

This happened to me when I pulled in for gas one time.  I was in my "glasspaks" phase with my 2K Interstate, the "Blue Babe", and she sounded kind of like a small block Chevy at idle.

I get done fueling and an old timer walks over to take a look at her and tells me it looks nice.

I thanked him and he keeps looking at it and finally notices all those header pipes and says:
"Does it still have the Harley sound?"

I kept a straight face and told him "No, it sounds a bit different now."

"Well, it sure is a pretty bike."

He climbed into his RV and I could tell he was checking the sound as I left, revved it a few times for
him.
Makes me wonder if he ever figured out what model of Ultra Classic it was!  Grin
******

I had another guy one time ask me what kind of Harley it was and I told him I couldn't give specifics, because it was an experimental model on a long term road test.   Wink

Every copier is a Xerox machine, all tissue paper is Kleenex, and anything on 2 wheels is a Harley. LOL

Ride safe.

Doc's story reminds me of a guy a few months ago asking me if my '99 Tourer was "the new Harley". LOL. Wrong on two fronts unless you think 17 years old is new.  Roll Eyes

...

That's why I now keep a new nickel in a windshield bag.  I also refrain from calling it a "trick", because there is no trickery about it.  I make sure at least one individual in the audience examines the nickel before the demonstration...
