The bad drivers are out there and always will be. Gesturing to them will change nothing. Hitting there car with a hammer or marbles will only escalate their behavior and they my take it out on an innocent motorcyclist down the road. You are no longer the innocent victim if you start throwing things at them. You pulling over and wanting to fight will more than likely guarantee you getting your butt whipped. Have you seen the average age and shape of this group. Size, strength, stamina, and age matters. On the other hand I have witnessed riders pull right out in front of cages before. I am sure that some here are better drivers, riders than others. I doubt that anyone here has ridden, driven, perfectly there entire life. Everyone gets upset when they feel that they have been wronged. How do you feel when you have wronged someone else? Years ago I had a van run a red light and I hit him riding a motorcycle. He was at fault. He got the ticket. I got the ambulance ride. The situation sucked but beating on him or his van would have improved the situation how? It's hard to not want to act but it is a futile action because it will change nothing. I just let them go. Thank God for looking out for me. Take a deep breath and do my best to drain off the adrenalin so I can start enjoying my ride again.  cooldude

While I do tend to agree, I also think it's important to ensure they know they just almost killed someone.   I do not advocate throwing anything at anyone but, don't let me come up beside that same person at the next stop light, they will get an earful.    Does that put me a risk?   Yeah, I suppose so but, the more they aren't  looking, the greater danger we are all in.

I still get a giggle out of my buddy's reaction to tossing that chewing tobacco into the car that had just run him off the road.   It was almost like an instinctive act.   Had me rolling with laughter.
I know this, I would have remembered it.  Wink

In the various cross country bike trips I've done, I've never had a problem with pickups.  It always those fn minivans.

Fully concur with your minivan experience.   cooldude

I have promised myself to remain calm(er) in the face of bad drivers (and to try to do nothing I wouldn't want on camera).

It is the minivans (and let's be clear, it the minivan drivers) who make me break my promise (and blow gaskets).  I also observe more of them texting and cell phone driving than any other vehicle.  And yes, it's nearly all women drivers.
