Second, while David Duke is no longer a member of the Ku Klux Klan, he is still an active member of another white supremacist organization, NAAWP: the National Association for the Advancement of White People.

So is the NAACP a black supremacy group?  Shocked

Actually Ron, it was a different thread. I think it was one that started as a joke about Clinton. And then evidently devolved too far. It didn't seem near as bad as some threads though. But I'm sure it was bound to get ugly.

That is distinctly not true.  If you post repeatedly calling disrespectful names the posters with whom you disagree your post will likely be removed regardless of your political stance.  My strong preference would be that folks on either end who find it necessary to post disrespectful and demeaning comments pointed toward members of this board, either side, would simply choose to go elsewhere for their political diatribes.

I don't post a whole lot in here, in fact, I rarely 'log in' but check in regularly to keep up with everything Valkyrie. But I had to respond to this thread.

Personally, it's waste of time arguing/discussing politics. Politics today has become a most vile and corrupt entity, and I include every side, right, left, it doesn't matter. Is there really going to be a point made by one side or the other that changes the other one's mind? Seriously, it's not even worth discussing because those who have made up their mind from one side or the other are not about to change, if ever. You could spend a thousand pages each and point out the most heinous crimes of Clinton or Trump (or substitute any representative in the political spectrum) and it would still be doubtful those heavily siding with their particular candidate would change their view or vote. Getting into pissing matches is even sillier. I for one would like to see the creators of this site to add one more sub-heading to the board "Political Discussion' and let those who can't help themselves have at it.

For me, I'll continue to visit the board because I find it informative, interesting and enjoy reading about the one common thread we can all agree on, the love of our Valks. I dodge the threads around politics because I learned long ago there are specific topics you can never agree on or change others' minds. Should we give it a shot with religion or abortion as well as politics? Make your statement along with others the best way you can, go out and vote when the time comes.

Just my two cents worth.

This. Been a member since it's second day of operation. People have been arguing since the beginning, sometimes I did too. "No" ones mind has ever been changed here that I have read....'Ever" So rave on it's better than road rage or hitting your kids. ( - =

Actually my mind has been changed here by other members several times. I've been educated here on everything from the rebel flag to motor oil.

I believe everyone on this earth can teach me something if I can just keep my mind and ears open enough to recognize it. When you decide you can't learn anything from other people, it's a self-fulfilling prophecy because you have closed your mind to learning.

As far as talking politics, I do it because I love my country and my freedom. If I don't understand something and someone can help me make a more informed decision concerning how to preserve our freedom, I could not be more thankful for the help.

Our votes have meaning. Our lives, our children's lives and our solder's lives depend on the wisdom of our voters.

Myself, I would rather live 5 seconds as a free man than a thousand lifetimes as a serf. I feel that if I don't do everything I can to help our country make the decision that best preserves our liberty in November and we vote to give up that liberty, then I have personally failed my family, my friends, myself and my country.

Given the stakes this November I can't imagine any American not feeling the same passion about it. Both those who want to preserve our liberty, and those who want to give up our liberty are passionate about it. Which philosophy wins in November will largely determine our children and grandchildren's future.

In the post that Willow removed, I used the term "angry old white guy" repeatedly.  This is apparently an unacceptable term in his eyes.  Though the truth is, the people I described are angry, old, and are white guys.  It's not like I used any inaccurate descriptors.  Willow just opposes accurate descriptors that aren't flattering to him.  Of course words like liberal, moron, and someone whose "mom should come out from under the porch and bite him on the ankle" (and many far worse terms) are perfectly acceptable in his eyes when used to describe those on the left side of the political spectrum.  No, no political bias there. We know he consistently removes any posting denigrating those of the progressive persuasion, right?

As I said, he does a fine job maintaining the echo chamber many members desire.  Do not post anything that disagrees with right-wing ideology lest you want your post deleted by the "friendly, young at heart Caucasian".  2funny

And, again, you fail to acknowledge that the violence, anger on the streets, riots, etc, are NOT being done by "angry, old, white guys".  That is almost solely done by younger people of color.

In the post that Willow removed, I used the term "angry old white guy" repeatedly.  ...

In the post that Daddy O is whining about he used other terms as well as "angry old white guy" but more importantly he didn't use them in a general fashion but specifically used them pointing to other poster on this board.

As so often occurs, when one steps over the line he insists that removing his post was because of his point and not because of how he expressed it.  I find that childish at best.  I have in the past been accused of being both a conservative and a liberal.

I won't bother again explaining why anything was removed.  If one doesn't like the rules of this board he is welcome to stay off it, either by his own choice or by ours.

Oh, just in case anyone is interested I am neither young at heart nor Caucasian.

Don't tell me Ferguson was burned up by angyr, old white guys!  Please tell me where "angry, old, white guys rioted and burned their neighborhoods up?

He's talking about this board....

Angry, by liberal standards.

I see concern.  About the direction our country is taking.  Streets being taken over by thugs.  Blatant lying by Hillary, over and over.  2nd Amendment, freedom of speech being threatened.   More and more Socialist like policies. Etc.

According to Libs, that is "being angry." I guess, according to them, we should just lie back, and enjoy the country, as it was founded, being destroyed.

No you shouldn't. But maybe you should not be quite so eager to buy into every hate filled thing that you come across the Internet. It might soften the "angry, old, white guy" stereotype if people dealt in facts and not hate.
