The term "worthless turds" comes to mind. Applied to the incompetents at the i r s to the do nothings at the d o j and the hackers that made it happen. RIDE SAFE.

Does anyone know how to check to make sure that you are 'ok'?

Our Indiana Senator, Dan Coats, the one who was quoted. is leaving the Senate, he says the governemnt no longer works for the people.

Politicians (Democrats mostly) have a fit about Indiana's voter id requirement. They don't want people to know that Indiana's Bureau of Motor Vehicles is set up to furnish ID to any one who shows proof of citizenship, including the poor and non vehicle owners. I must show my drivers license three times before i can vote.  It works well.

Thanks, but I was not really talking about voting. Wondering how you find out if someone else is using your SSN?

When you try to file your taxes and discover that someone has received a refund in your name you know someone has stolen your social security number. Don't ask me how I know.

Quite a few years ago, my SSN had been hijacked by an illegal immigrant. I found out several years after the fact, when the IRS sent me a demand letter for unpaid taxes.  Although the person had taxes withheld, it was not nearly enough to cover the tax burden for all that marginal income.

But, as to your question, you can go to your local SS office and ask for a print-out of what has been reported on your SSN.  I now do that every year before preparing my tax return.

You can't do much about the length of your life, so focus on the width.

In my case, that didn't happen because the person did not file a tax return.
