Sitting behind her, she was sitting waiting for light to change (first in the lane) well back from the intersection, room for at least one or two vehicles in front of her.   He sees her texting on the her phone.   After sitting there for a short time, he pulls up beside her and knocks on the window, she ignores him.   He knocks on the window again, she continues to ignore him.   Eventually, he goes ahead and pulls up to the light.   The next thing you see, she passes him on his right, in his lane and almost side swipes his mirrors/handle bars.   From there, it gets interesting.

All I can say is, he handled it better than I would have.

I cannot tell you how many times I have encountered almost the same situation. While I dont let them near me, I would say that on every ride I encounter conservatively at least 10 to 12 that are seriously texting while driving. Its getting much worse also, I think I am going to get a cam because its ludicrous how much I see this. This does not include those on phones talking or with ear pieces in listening to music, they at least are watching the road. I have seen them driving down 95 at 70mph texting or stopped at a light they dont pull up exactly what happened in the video. On the highway they become rolling road blocks and hinder traffic. Their reaction and attention to traffic and signals is impeded and slowed so its almost like being drunk. I had some tell me to f off after confronting them. Some have tried to start crap with some of the same type of reactions in the video, but I get away from them most of the time. Its gotten to the point that I look at who I pass just to make sure they are not on their phones texting. I plan my moves to stay away from these people as much as possible. Most are getting sneakier about it and you know them by them looking down or at the dash board a little to long.

I do want to say one thing about the video though, it was majorly stupid after he confronted the lady not to watch his mirrors for reactions. I am more surprised when they dont try to do something stupid than when they do. People dont care and they dont like to be confronted, they will use any means possible to hurt you after you confront them. We dont have steel between us and them but we have maneuverability and speed so just be aware and be prepared. Especially if you decide to confront these people. Dont take for granted that people are good and the road is a safe place, take for granted they are out to get you so you stay alive doing the thing you like to do. Its virtually impossible to confront all those you see doing this its just to many.

If you think I have never seen this before, I do alot of riding in fairly congested areas and I ride all the time. I have not seen so much on outlying areas or not around major towns. So if you think this is all nuts dont worry its coming to an area near you. If your area is not that congested please be careful when you come to a congested or city type area and the next time someone is slowing traffic or slow to start off on a light that has changed a bit it may be texting. It is harder to spot car to car but on a bike looking into the pass compartment its easy to spot.

Since when is texting at a red light against the law?  What was his problem?

Passing him like that was way wrong though.......he obviously pissed her off but she crossed the line with that move.

Im sure she put it down when the light turned green if she ever saw the light turn since she never even pulled forward to the line.  2funny 2funny

Texting while operating a motor vehicle is illegal here in MA. You are still operating while stopped at a red light. It's so easy to spot the idiots from behind, they're looking down, and they don't move when the lights change. Just look in their rear view mirrors...   tickedoff

Most places in the US it is illegal to text when behind the wheel driving or parked at a light. Now the police here have taken the stance of ticketing people for talking on the phone while driving citing them for distracted driving. Currently cell phones are rated as the #1 killer on the road well above intoxicated drivers.
I think the guy in the video did the right thing and handled it well.
