Leaving Oct 8th to visit Laurie's brother and his wife in North Myrtle Beach. Laurie will be flying there so I can haul butt and not have to stop so often.  Cool
Her brother rides a Harley so we're going to leave Monday and stay at a cabin in Murphy NC till the following Friday.
Going to do the BRP, Dragon and Cherohala Skyway.
Going to stay Friday night in Asheville near the airport and Laurie will leave early Sat morning.
I'll be riding back.

Going to get the Haulmaster trailer that MarkT wrote about here:

http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,89632.0.html

Going to make it much easier packing!  Grin  Grin

Other than the routes I spoke of above, any tips on any other roads/routes?

I have NO idea WHAT the grey crap they pass off for grease ACTUALLY is BUT it ain't grease and it barely dissipates with gasoline or diesel. And you WILL be better served with American bearings and the H/F L E D light kit-I M H O. RIDE SAFE.

If you're in Murphy you're not gonna wanna miss 28 from Deals Gap through Fontana all the way to Franklin, Nc. & 64 from Franklin through Highlands, Nc.
Also 107, 215, & 276 across BRP are spectacular!
You might hate BRP itself that time of year. You gotta be really on your game, they'll bow up on ya in the middle of the road & leave ya nowhere to go. This WILL happen more than once, trust me!

cooldude also, Town Mountain Rd (694) is a good "back way" right into the heart of Asheville from BRP (comes in from the NE). Should you get East of Mt. Mitchell I'd recommend both The Devils Whip (Hwy 80 on South side of BRP) & The Diamondback (226A also on the South side of BRP). They'll both test your skills coolsmiley

I can remember just about every corner of all 45 years of riding. But I can only remember a dozen or so road numbers. Most of the places I've got to look at the map. Just did Ireland 18 months ago. 6 days of AWESOME roads. But I couldn't tell you but 2 or three numbers.  tickedoff
