David Ross, 39 year old Cubs catcher in his final game of professional baseball, hits a home run to center field (400 feet). That's just ******* fantastic and Ted Williamsesque. I'd like to shake his hand.

For the Indians, they could have just as easily won that game (and deservedly so) last night as the Cubs for coming back from being down 5-1 going into the bottom of the 5th; then behind 6-3 in the bottom of the 8th and tying it up. But not to be...that's baseball...

and that's why it's a great sport. Baseball teaches that there is normally more losing in life than winning; the occasional joy of victory is fulfilling and immeasurable all at once. There may be redemption in your next at bat. Take it all in while you can.

Cubs manager Joe Maddon took his dad's cap out of his back pocket, wore it on the field after the game and choked up during an interview. My dad's cap hangs on a mirror in our house...thank you dad.
