It was nice and bright, about 42 degrees, clear and breezy this morning, put on the hitair mesh jacket with the wind liner and eased down the street to 9A north
I went up along east side of the Hudson River so I could enjoy the stuff wind in my face. There is just something about a cold wind on my face that is just so pleasant to me. I love cool and cold weather riding. Soon I was upon the circle for the goat trail, past the army base and up the trail, left to cross over the river and at the circle I made a snap decision to take the Palisdades spur instead of riding north to the cliff road, my original plan.
If you have ever skied the north face of a mountain that is what the spur was like today, windy much colder than the south face and damn it felt good. The road was smooth, no potholes and I was alone with my thoughts.
At the next circle I took 7 Lakes and still had the road to myself. Not one motorcycle or car going my direction but several dozen bikes. Saw just one or two cars going the other way.
Most of the leaves are down now and there were wind ripples on the lakes. A huge deer jumped in front of me so I stopped and let him amble across. Doggone deer had not a care in the world didnt realize he almost became a Valkyrie ornament !!
After cruising along Tiorati's shores and making the turn to go up 106 I stopped at the 1st camp turn off on the left for Lake Sebago and took this pic

Man was my riding skills rusty on 106 so I turned around at the end and went back for a mulligan, the second time was not a whole heck of a lot better so when I returned back to the circle I just headed back towards Perkins Drive
Perkins was gusty no motorcycles, just a couple of cars, you could clearly see the skyline of NYC 50-60 miles away

Used the zoom but Well ya have to trust me on that lol
as I dont have a filter on the cell phone camera
On the way down there is a spot on the east where you can see the Bear Mtn Bridge far below and the panorama of looking towards Ct and Mass borders and north on the Hudson is just terrific so I moseys over to the edge of the drop off and took this pic

Coming back down the goat trail I managed to not brake more than a few times letting the gears sing in the decreasing radius turns and finally I felt relaxed. Got to push 4000 rpm in 5th on 9 south for a good while then of course when I get to the left turn on 9A for Chappaqua Rd the damn light wont turn so I ran the light when all was clear.
Only 70 quality miles but I needed to clear my head
Hope some of you can post a report of your rides today and of course I am looking forward to the reports of Mac's Veteran's Day rides!!
Bonnie and I are off to take a nice walk around teatown reservation while its still light out
