I can get here in two hours using all good roads... It never has occurred to me that you'd have to go anywhere to see nature's beauty... The page you posted won't load for me right now, I hope it will later... -Mike

My wife and I have been to over half of those routes listed, they are well worth the time and money. We haven't been to the west coast, or I should say I haven't been. She and her former husband(passed on) traveled the west coast in a motorhome. In 1994, our honeymoon started with traversing the Going To The Sun Highway, then headed north into Canada a few hundred miles to Jasper. We went north on the east side of the Canadian Rockies(actually right up the center of them) and then south down the west side. Absolutely stupendous scenery. Come the Fall of the year, in years past we've toured MA, VT, NH, ME numerous times including the Kancamagus Highway. The colors in New England are beautiful and the leaf peepers abundant, don't be in a hurry and we found that if we were there about the second week of October it usually is at its peak for color. When/if you should travel any of the areas listed in the article, be sure to take plenty of photos. My wife is no longer able to travel and we have a large amount of memories on film to look back on.

Thank you for this! I have been looking for Hawk's Nest ever since the late 70's, when I did the trip in a car. Knew where I started(Boston), and where I ended up (PA), but much of the trip was a blur, and I never could find it on a map. Will be revisiting this soon!

I have been on several of those roads/routes and many in between and will tell you dont look at a map get out and explore and you will find more roads that are little known to be as good or better than what the experts say are the best

I agree 100% I did notice though that the picture that is susposed to be of the Blue Ridge Parkway is not. What caught my eye was the standard steel guardrail. The BRP uses wooden guardrail:

Hawks nest is on the Delaware river New York side. 10 ISH miles north of port Jarvis where New York New Jersey and Pennsylvania meet. It's becoming a local "tail of the dragon" type scene. It's been in several car commercials Dan

I sure want to see the western part of this big beautiful country before I die. Since the day I took my B-I-Law's Honda CB360 for a ride. I've wanted to see the west on 2 wheels. This even dates back to when I was a kid. I grew up on western movies. John Wayne being my favorite. Lucky for me he liked to film on location. Even as a kid the scenery excited me as much as the actual movie.

Those are 15 great rides. There are 1500+ that did not make the list and all are in the USA or Canada.
Examples: St Lawrence Sea Way, Nova Scotia Coast, Yellowstone Park, Natchez Trace, Most of East Tennessee, Most of North Georgia, Western Virginia, Many in the Rock Mtns, Mississippi River Road (both sides), The Dakotas, Northern AZ and NM, Texas Hill Country, US 1 East Coast, US 64 east to west, Ohio Amish Country, West Virginia Mtns, Salt Lake to Denver on 2 lane, and on and on.

I have to agree whole heartedly Dan. I have driven all along the St. Lawrence Seaway from Trenton Ontario to Campbelton New Brunswick. IT is one of the nicest rides I do. There are so many beautiful little towns along the way and the scenery is some of the nicest I have seen. The roads range from fairly straight to almost as curvy as the Dragon. We took a week last summer to ride from Cardinal Ontario to Campelton New Brunswick and back. It was a great week. Lots of seafood as well. :cool dude: The Route 97 is only 5 hours from us. We are definitely putting it on the to ride list this summer. That's a nice weekend trip.

I've ridden 7 1/2/ A 1/2 because I've not ridden all of CA Hwy1.
Went up Mt Greylock in the winter of 93. Too cold and too much snow and ice. That helped me decide to head back to Atlanta.

DirtyDan Went to Meat Cove on the Valk in 2015, it was raining so hard that the dirt road was washed out in some areas making that terrible road even worse and what really sucked was that the chowder place was out of chowder! After that we went to Newfoundland and on to Labrador. As for the list, my favorite is still Rt 12 Utah

I've done 10 of these 15. I enjoyed all of them to one degree or another, but this is FAR from a comprehensive list of the best motorcycle roads in the US.
