It's not exactly interesting to me to hear about and see all these demonstrations; Shrill women voices at wide open throttle, bull horns to raise the 'protests' crap even higher, crude signs , anti against just about everything marches, blockages, litter, destruction of property, and other assorted crap associated with these "peaceful" demonstrations.............enough.    I'm a little tired of this along with the constant PC nonsense that comes along with it.

I would bet that very few of the demonstrators have ever contacted their elected officials.  I would also bet that very few 'marches' would be held if we didn't have television coverage of the events.

As for me, no demonstrations for me, I'm too old and set in my ways.  I am determined not to get into futile discussions on this board which result in counter claims, admonitions, facts and anti facts, and quotes and re quotes.  I'm not sure if I can refrain but I'll try.

I will continue to contact my elected guys or gals and give them my humble and biased opinion.  I will continue to value my friends and ,hopefully, maintain or try to maintain a positive outlook.

However, if any one or any group try(s) to impose their beliefs on me in a forceful manner, I would refer them to the Motto on the Gadsen (sp) flag............ "Don't Tread On me'

Occupy Wall Street, Black lives Matter, etc....if people push their agenda to hard, too long, or too in the face of people, I believe eventually it works against them. Remember the sayin, "you can't beat a dead horse"?

I have often sent letters and emails to my elected officials, this is a very powerful tool we have. I have been doing it since late elementary school.  One issue I have, when I use to send letters, I always got some sort of reply, even if it was a form letter back. The problem is these days, is the percentage of replies from the official has dropped. I encourage and have mentioned on several occasions on this board for people to exercise their right to express themselves to their representatives. Even if they don't get back with you, when the representatives receive multiple letters/emails they will take notice. Often I hear people say, I will get them on Voting Day, chances are they forget on that day, Asking information from our Local, State and Federal, Representatives works Today! Trick is no matter how mad you are, always be polite or it will end up in the trash.  Just my experience!

It seems that's where they want this to go, which isn't very wise of them IMHO but...

One of the images I'm seeing coming from the left more and more often is some variation of this:

And the media is reporting these town hall demonstrations are spontaneous, grass roots protests.  If you believe that, I've got a deal on some ocean front property in balmy Western Colorado.

My suggestion is go to the post office and purchase a few dozen postcards with stamps or make your own and put stamps on them  Write out a few addresses for the officials and keep it in a folder with the post cards  Its cheap and effective

Then send one every few days to an elected official

This is what the women groups are doing when they get together at coffee shops.  A few dozen postcards a day gets attention being the squeaky or squarky wheel  (yeah I probably spelled that incorrectly)

You only have to say one sentence about what you want signed or not

There's an old saying applied to lawyers, but I think it equally applicable to the loud and nasty left.

If you can't convince them with reason and logic, baffle them with (noisy) bullshit.

And if you think about all the political news on TV you've watched and articles you're read in the last few years, you will be very hard put to find much insightful, reasoned logic from the left on any important issues.  They spend all their time loudly hating virtually everything conservative (which is always accompanied by reasoned and logical argument), and little to no time explaining why their positions are logically better (if you can actually find any of their positions discussed at all).

And this is all the more important when you consider the main stream media is solidly behind the left.  They too perpetuate the loud and noisy opposition to all conservative platforms, but never seem to get around to giving good detailed logical discussions of why left positions are better positions.  You would think if such reasoning existed, they would publish it.  Since they don't, it must not exist.

Jess thinkin' out loud.

Me too Wayne.

It's interesting that when the Tea Parties formed and did their protesting it was viewed as righteous by many here. Now that the left is starting to do it, they are viewed as unrighteous.  coolsmiley

Did the Tea Party members riot in the streets destroying private property???  uglystupid2

Did the Tea Party members willfully block city streets stopping American citizens from going about their daily business?

Did the Tea Party members willfully block city streets and interstates stopping emergency vehicles from being able to get to where they were needed?

Etc

Reading that, which I hope you did but somehow doubt, I see that some Tea Bags were thrown over the White House fence and some idiots used words they shouldn't have.

Yet you compare that with the riots and property damage we've been seeing on the streets of America.

Brit, these town halls are really getting rowdy and pointed. Most of the videos I've seen are from Congressional districts in deep red territory, and these people are pissed. I think it's an excellent development, and I'm talking for both sides of the aisle.

Maybe if these bastards start seeing some real pushback, we might start seeing some good come of it.

There have been some ugly protests as of late, but don't think that previous Tea Party protests were milk and cookie get-togethers. Google Tea Party protest violence. Bring a lunch.....

My point is that anytime a very large group of pissed off people get together for a rally, it's not pretty.

I attended two huge Tea Party rallies in DC.  They were family affairs with the wife and kids and could easily have been mistaken for any ordinary 4th of July celebrations.  There were some edgy signs and Tshirts, but everyone was smiling and polite and friendly.  No one wore masks, or body armor, or helmets.  There was no violence, no screaming or hateful chanting.

Media walked around with cameras trying to find something bad, and they couldn't find any.

Media coverage was minimal (as you would expect).

OK I'll take your bait.

First up is a video which shows a black guy physically attacking Tea Partyiers.

Then there's a link to a Huff Post article which has these words in  "As the Tea Partiers reach the end of the ANSWER group, one of the Tea Partiers can be seen having an argument with one of the ANSWER counter-protesters when that counter-protester pummels him with his sign."

Hmmmm not doing so well are you.

Next there's this from the same article "The brawl quickly spilled into the road, with some joining in and some trying to break up the fight. By the end of the incident, both Tea Partiers were on the ground, being battered by counter-protesters. 62 year-old Dave Caulkett of Floridians for Immigration Enforcement says he was kicked in the face just before being let up from the ground."

I didn't need my lunch nor even a snack to see that your agent provocateur agenda is as flimsy as a piece of used toilet paper.

I took my daughter to multiple Tea Party/Pro Gun/Impeach Obama rallies over the years... Boy howdy those were some wild groups, frothing craziness with violence just simmering at the surface ready to explode with the tiniest provocation.

Oh wait not... They were polite, respectful, peaceful, and even CLEANED UP AFTER OURSELVES...

That baby was about to crawl out of his stroller and go on a violent rampage at any second!

I'm glad the protest you attended with your family was civil. But they weren't all by any means.

Could it be that you've posted supposed Tea Party actions? Surely not. The devil is in the details.

That prompted me to do some research on the image you posted, and other than lots of people posting it as justification for rioting against Trump, haven't been able to find ANY back story on it.

From just looking at the pic, it looks like one idiot standing in front of a church burning an effigy of Obama.

One idiot in a parking lot does not a protest make. Wink

As Ronald Reagan would say, "There you Go again"    Wink

Just to expand a little on my original post, I wish that I could fly BOTH of these flags at my Apartment.

I, however, am thankful for this Republic, its Constitution, and the Second Amendment.  No loud statements, just a resolve to get along with my friends and the means to defend myself if necessary.

I see all of the responses to my post and it proves a point with me.  "Nuff said. Sad
