On my way to work this morning...I was hit and runned from behind...dont think I even saw him in my mirrors. Broken right collarbone, a little rash on my legs. I was wearing all my gear. Small scrape on my helmet...the asshat in the car turned around and left. Yesterday 4/13 marked 90 day that we had the new KTM Super Duke GT and was 9 miles shy of 3.5k miles

Dang Tony.  That really sucks.  Any leads on the dirtbag?

Hope the healing goes well, collar bones are not fun, the first 72 hrs are the worst, but it gets better.

Wow Tony! Sorry to hear of this. Even though you didn't get off unscathed, it sounds like you will heal. I see a red truck in the photo. Did that driver see it happen? Any other witnesses that were able to help with a description?

Is the bike totaled? Looks like it took a pretty good hit.

Man, I'm really sorry to hear this. I hope they catch him. It's got to be heartbreaking to have that happen to your new bike, but I'm glad you are still around to ride another day.
Best wishes

Hey Tony!  Hate to hear that.  I am not surprised at the runner.  People around these parts are cold on the street.

Hope it all works out.  If you need a hand, give me a shout.

Sorry for your troubles.   Angry

Any street or business cameras within a few blocks in any direction?  Resolution can be very good, all you need is a plate.

Prayers and Wishing you well.

Any feed back later when you are up to it, on the perp and how you and your bike fairs, we would all like to hear from you.

Get rest! Heal! and try to get back on a bike as soon as you can. After, make your decision on if you will continue to ride or not. I bought a convertible after my accident, for daily driving, bike is now for pleasure rides only.

Good idea on the camera, and it can also be from the previous intersection too, or down the street business.

Hey everyone, thanks for all the kind word...yes, it could have been soooo much worse. A couple of funny/ironic/cool observations. The accident happened right in front of Apache Motorcycles Mesa store. The officers pushed the bike around to their service department. I got released from the ER and went right over there. A funny...when the folks who work there, got to work and saw it...they knew exactly who's bike it was because vthey had adjusted the chain about 2k miles ago and it was the first one they had ever seen. Apache Motorcycles have a location in Scottsdale and that is where their KTM store is. The Mesa store will be transporting it to the Scottsdale store. Now a little about the bike...there is considerable damage to the left side of the bike...the single sided swing arm got some pretty significant scraping...I will keep you posted.

Bummer. Glad you're ok. I doubt catching the scumbag would do any good. I would guess no insurance. I would also guess that if caught they would just let him walk because of over crowded jails. The tv's, air conditioners, game stations, ect, ect take up too much room. Heal quick.  cooldude

While I am sorry your bike was ruined, but glad you came out pretty good and at least you didn't live up to your name, So actually it was a great day for you. If I were you I would start asking around the businesses and see if anyone maybe caught it on a surveillance cam pointed at the street. If for no other reason to make sure some A@@@@@ is taken off the street and cannot do it to someone else.

still try whatever means to catch the dirtbag who drove off.  If no insurance, no job, etc.,  you can still collect being ways.  I had to and did take 10 months to get 1100 out of a guy down my street who rear ended my newer truck a few years ago.  what irks me is he also lied to the local police indicating he had insurance and our one horse town police officer just took his word for it is all.

I knew the guy and knew he was not rich, but he was a dick about it after several phone calls to him and small claims court case and DMV report about to loose his regular drivers license over a small 10 mph collision taking out my rear bumper and trailering wiring.

Hey Tony sorry to hear about this and hope you feel better soon. My son broke his collar bone when he was about 12 and understand the pain and discomfort you're in. Rest up and follow doctors orders.

I hope your bike is repairable and everything works out for the best.

Stay positive.

Would definitely check into the public camera idea. Well worth catching someone like that. May keep him from doing it again to someone else. Think about it.

Yup, not a good Friday. Having lived in Prescott for nine years I know that area, too much traffic and too many unins. drivers. I broke my collar bone over three years ago after my Valk acc. It hurt for some time an still does but it can heal without surgery in most cases. Mine was busted up pretty bad but it healed on its own. Good luck.

Again thanks for the great words of experience, right not THE absolutely the most painful...a little 8"x3" football shaped section of road rash...feels like its on fire.
Confirmed with the shop that has the bike, it will be getting trailered to the  Scottsdale store on Tuesday.

Tony - wow - I'm sorry to hear about this and hope you heal fast and they get your bike fixed fast.

Do you think there's any chance of catching the dirtbag that hit you?

Really bad situation, thanks God that you are ok and recovering.

I have been considering installing a gopro at the rear of the bike to capture footage in such case. I saw that there is one camera designed for motorcycles that has 2 units (1 for the front and another for the rear).

Issue is that is made by some Chinese random company, so quality may vary.

I got a GoPro that I use in my bikes (front facing) and just ordered this Gopro clone to install in the bike's rear (45 bucks):

I will report back if it works fine.

Glad you're ok cooldude

Time for healing. You mentioned a football sized raspberry.  On your hip?

Looking at your pictures, it looks like you were moving when hit.

Were you stopped at the light ?

Such a great looking bike.  Sad to see her on her side like that.

Get better soon and I hope it all works out your way.

Thanks again to all for positivity.  Right now, will be super happy to be riding the Valk bobber while the KTM gets sorted out. The raspberry mentioned is a very very modest one burts more than the broken collarbone.
I was moving...25-30 or so.
