I only saw the last half of the Capitals/Penguins. Pittsburgh is just dominating, it wasn't even closely competitive. I'm going to have to check out a Rangers/Senators game. Haven't seen any yet.

Can't believe how good Nashville is looking!
I thought that maybe with St. Louis winning the last one it would throw the Preds off ...... NOT!

Yeah, they're playing like crap.

On a positive note, the mic wasn't working in the arena for the American anthem, the crowd belted it out, was pretty cool.

That was about the most uneventful OT you can have.  ???

Two cheap shots to the head on the same play.  Ovechkin should have gotten a high stick call also and that defenceman should get at least a one game suspension (he could have pulled his stick higher to avoid the crosscheck).
Refereeing in the playoff games that I've been watching has been pretty lousy; calls that would have been made in the regular season are being let go.  Now, the best player in the league is sidelined and his team put at a disadvantage for an important game.  Hate cheap shots.

I agree Ovechkin should have got a high sticking. I'm not sure about the other. It looked like he didn't expect Crosby would be falling down. I'd have to see it again.

That's playoff hockey.

Sure the hit was high, but only because Crosby was going down. Sure it could have been a slashing called on Ovi, but maybe it's the hockey Gods evening the score for his slash on Methot that removed part of his finger with no call.

Don't get me wrong, Crosby is great and it's not nice to see anyone hurt...and I have Pittsburgh in my playoff pool  Grin but I don't mind if the refs to let more stuff go in the playoffs.

Ovechkin gave him a two hander up high (watch this one and stop it when you need to around 11 seconds in) and also slew footed Crosby's left foot with his right skate and threw him sideways into Niskanen.  That's my take on the play and I disagree with Melrose.  Ovechkin should have gone.  I hope someone pounds the Ruskie next game.

tickedoff Oh Capitals. You have cemented yourselves after this game as the worst best team ever. Once again you can't play with intensity until you have been destroyed by a banged up Penguins team. This franchise just embarrassed all fans of this team. You're the laughing stock of the entire sports world. You're the first team in NHL history to not win at least one cup, with three attempts as the number one seed. We will not come back from 3-1 in this series. That's reserved for finishers, and champions. Not scrubs who get embarrassed year after year. I will always watch your games, and hope you prove me wrong one day. But, this has to be the biggest let down in sports history. If they don't come back and win this series, the franchise needs to be gutted. Everyone gone. Hire someone who doesn't choke behind the bench. Capitals. You're the worst thing in the history of everything. You just got embarrassed, so big, and you deserve it. Now you will watch the Pens lift another cup, and I hope it haunts you the rest of your lives, the let down you have once again given your fans. Do us a favor, don't post the "Thank you, Fans!" We don't want your thanks. tickedoff

Penguins are too deep for the Capitals.  Ovechkin is a non-factor hacker; another two hander slash last night.  Stick a fork in Caps and get that guy a crying towel.
Ducks are too big for the Oilers.  Edmonton is just a bit young, but they'll be back.  Still Anaheim in 6.

Nashville is making strides as the playoffs progress; I'm pulling for them (and Cody McLeod-longtime Av who was discarded at trade deadline) for a finals appearance. Cool

Anaheim just dominated that first period.

Edm need to figure out how to get through the neutral zone, use their speed. They're making bad passes.

And the defence is getting killed by the Anaheim forecheck.

Anaheim is a well coached team.

St.Louis survived but I sure think that both team seem slow.

Caught myself cheering for the Oilers tonight!
After getting beat up (literally) so bad in the first period and Talbot holding the fort, I figured they would come out on top. Good grief what a collapse. Kinda reminded me of the Leafs Bruins a few years back.

Right now it's Getzlaf for the Conn Smythe; the guy is shredding the Oilers defence.

Even though they beat my Bruins with some less than stellar officiating, I wouldn't mind seeing the Senators play the Oilers in the big game.

Maybe not great for TV ratings, but awesome for our hockey loving brothers north of the border.

The score speaks for itself; now, Game 7 in Anaheim.  My prediction is out the window (as usual).
Looking for a tight game with close checking from both teams.  Hope the refs call a good game for a no-excuse victory to whichever team wins. Lips Sealed

Always remember 92'\93' Leafs Kings!!!

Was hoping St Louis was going to force a game 7 ....... but......

Didn't expect this at all!!!

Oilers are always dangerous in the playoffs.
